UW-Stout Regular Season Thread 2010-2011: We're still here

Re: UW-Stout Regular Season Thread 2010-2011: We're still here

I want to thank all the UW-Stout hockey parents, alumni and fans for their support over the last 4 years. It has been a fun ride to be able to follow a team as closely as I have. I may have missed 10 games total in 4 years with Stout. Of course my position allowed me the chance to sit next to you on the bus or the jet and follow the team to far away places. From the Primelink to Lake Placid, from Concorida-MN back to the Dunn Co Ice Palace. It's been a truly amazing ride.

I've met so many wonderful parents and alumni, some graduates dating back to four decades ago. The original players from Stout's club team who built the Dunn Co Ice Palace itself and those who continue to maintain it to this day.

The Menomonie Youth Association has been a great partner to the Stout hockey program. Those young kids look up to the Stout players and the team spends countless hours with them each season. Open skating and pot luck Sunday's to even helping them with their homework and enjoying a nice dinner with a youth hockey family. I hope that relationship continues well past my 4 years here in Menomonie.

I'll never forget the inside jokes, pranks and overall funny situations we've encountered on the road, and after home games.

Players and their families I'd like to explicitly mention include: The Wolgemuth's, Klaren's, Pischlar's, Defrancesca's, Coyne's, Stone's, Walker's, Erickson's, Hasbargen's, Slupe's, Sternberg's, Haider's and Cohen's. There are many more I could list, I'm grateful to everyone I've come in contact with through my position the past four seasons.

Thank you for your support and for making www.stouthockey.com the most trafficked site in the western region, and perhaps the country.

There may be someone new at the helm of the play-by-play, but I'll be watching right along with you all!

www.stouthockey.com got more hits than www.d3westhockey.com this year?

Well, no one affiliated with D3WH was accused of killing anyone...

A good amount of traffic directed to stout hockey was by way of jared britton searches.

A good amount of traffic directed to stout hockey was by way of jared britton searches.

A good amount of search engine traffic was generated by that story as people who heard about it google'd those with alleged involvement. The 51% Alexa.com shows is not total traffic to the site.

I did a little math for you and that content on our site only accounts for 16% of all traffic from September 1st, 2010 through March 26th, 2011.

However, I did subtract some hits/pageviews from foreign countries caused by D3WH staff who too throughly enjoyed posting comments to our site over and over last fall that never became public.

That is absolutely not true. The fact you continue to trumpet this misinterpretation of your own data, or worse just a downright lie, is a very sad commentary on the nature of your character.

If you wish to continue making false claims that are fueled by some inexplicable petty complex you have developed you are obviously free to do so, but just keep in mind that doing so ultimately reflects solely on the one making such claims and not those they are incorrectly directed at.

I don't need to get into the facts behind making the claim. By your own admission via your signature earlier this season you admitted your home IP address was banned from Stouthockey.com. That alone means a computer on your home network submitted an inappropriate comment on Stouthockey.com last fall.

I never brought it up here because I have too much character to drag you through the mud on the almighty USCHO. This is the first time it was even referenced on this board, 6 months later. Otherwise, its simply been floated between our mutual friends, both of which (as you know, but others don't) have nothing to do with D3 hockey or this board.

You had a lapse of maturity and judgement, I forgive you.

If you want to hash it all out here or privately, you know how to find me.

I'll leave it at that...

As an SNC fan and follower, I want to thank you for the 4 years that you have invested in the hockey coverage at Stout. I have enjoyed the video and the updates that were rare at best out of Stout before your involvement. Good luck to you in your future endeavors.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm currently working on an article you may really enjoy. Be sure to keep an eye out... :)

Re: UW-Stout Regular Season Thread 2010-2011: We're still here

I do not post this to be "piling on," but merely informational update on the trial status, from today's Associated Press. It is certainly a sad situation for all involved.

HUDSON, Wis. (AP) - The defense lawyer for a former University of Wisconsin-Stout hockey player charged with killing a fellow student in a bicycle crash last year says the victim was drunk and his bicycle had bad brakes.

The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram reports (http://bit.ly/j2TP7b ) the felony murder trial of 23-year-old Jared C. Britton of Maplewood, Minn., began Tuesday in Hudson.

Defense attorney Earl Gray claims 22-year-old Bradley L. Simon's blood-alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit to drive when he died. Gray also claims Simon was riding a bicycle with no back brakes.

Simon died from head injuries after authorities say he was shoved off the bike and into a wall in downtown Menomonie. Police say the altercation followed a dispute in a bar over a Britton's sweatshirt.
