UVM Catamounts, 2024-25 Season, Does Anyone Care Anymore?

As much as I would like to get excited about a 4th rounder its hard when BU got 4 in the first two rounds alone.

BU 7
BC 3
UMass 3
NE 2
UConn 2
VT 1
Prov 1
Maine 0
UNH 0
Merrimack 0
UML 0

Thats BU&BC 10 the other 9 teams combined 9.

Nothing new. A lot of the BU/BC guys are of the "one and done" or "two and done" variety. BC is losing three players to early departures and BU is losing four. The draft counts include Boumedienne and Hagens who are there already as rising sophomores. It is a little disconcerting to see so many USNTDP players going to BU, though.

That is certainly the hope with Cedrick Guindon, that at 21 he is big enough and good enough to stay with the 18 year old Hagens this year, and out preform whoever is Hagens replacement when he is playing for the Bruins in 2 years, and Guindon is still here at UVM.

I would also say, the goal shouldn’t be to beat BC and BU the next few years. The goal should be to beat UNH, Maine, UML and everyone else who won’t have a Guindon, Olster and a Herrington and once we are in the middle of the pack of the best conference in hockey, figuring out how to take the next step from there.
