UVM 2016 Off-Season Thread

I'm afraid that doesn't mean much. Elite Prospects usually sets up that line when a recruit announces his commitment.
We had a similar request at Northeastern from Mike Szmatula three years ago. We learned that forcing a player to come when he wants to renege can have unexpected ramifications . In our case, the player had a productive first year, but became a selfish and jealous teammate when his numbers as a sophomore didn't compare as well as he hoped. He transferred to Minnesota and sat out this season. NU was a much happier and successful club without his "influence".
Even without Colton you have a well regarded recruiting class. Good luck!

Kevin told me the players show up for summer camp the first week of July
(I believe). We won't have to wait long to find out!

Will all hands be on deck next week or as was mentioned on here previously, has the program deleted anyone?
Still way too many defense and forwards at this point.

I'm usually not one to have "sources," especially from down here in Atlanta, GA, but I have it from a very reliable source that Ross Colton changed his mind about playing somewhere other than UVM, and that he'll be on the team this season. This person also said he'll be at the summer camp beginning next week!

Obviously, this is fantastic news for the program! I feel like this guy can make a pretty significant contribution right out of the gate. Go Cats!

Colton will be a good addition and take some of the pressure of Mario. Hopefully we have someone setup guys coming in as well, a la McCarthy. Having someone who will chase down pucks and dig them out off of the boards to get to these guys is a key missing component. We need J. Priv to continue to improve and some of the Sophomores to step up. But certainly having another guy who can bury the puck will be nice.

That is crazy. The cuts and defections predicted by others on this thread have not yet happened, save for the goalie. How can you run a program like this?
Does someone really know if players are not coming back or being deferred?

Our recruiting has gone from embarassing to absurd. Hope Schulman can get the train back on the tracks.

Well at least we will have enough guys to field a roster.... actually two. Maybe Sneddon can lend Jerry a few guys so he doesn't have to resort to pulling kids from the club team to field a squad.

Actually that is a good point. At 13 he should be part way through puberty and he is only at 5' 2". Say he gets another 4-6 inches by 18 years old that puts him at a wopping 5'6"-5'8". He better have Johnny Gudreau/ Martin St Louis skills....
