Its not that different from a Ponzi scheme. My guess is the line went something like this: "Packy we just don't see you as a guy that can be a back-up. We see you as a guy that needs to play. We will honor your scholarship and you can attend school but we just felt we needed to be honest (cough gag) with you and let you know you wont play and and we will have 3 goalies in addition to you so if you choose to stay, we will discuss with the assistants how we will handle practice rotations with the back ups".

As to the other kids leaving, I would rather respect them and let them get through school and alow them to inform the public. I can only assure you with 100% certainty there are more coming.

OK....school is over this week so I hope that you will be telling us what is happening with further departures. I know that if given the opportunity at least half the team would bolt, but many are trapped by age or not wanting to redshirt a year like Munson will do. So who else is either prepared to redshirt or have been shown the door?

Again. I will let this information come out on the players timeline. Also just to correct you again. Munson was on 30% last year and was told he was getting 50% next year. He didn't ask for it but suddenly when he went in for his meeting he was told they didnt have it to give to him because they have way way over committed the money available. Wallack didn't have to worry about this at Yale. He could over recruit all he wanted and never be on the hook for anything other than getting them into the school. Now hes gonna learn a very tough lesson. And as to the Micheletto and Gasparini comments, I beg to differ. Last good team UVM had were all guys recruited by Micheletto.

"Personal Issues" = Renege on money offer
Too bad. The kid would have been the #1 goalie unless the coaching staff did its magic and didn't play the best players.

Interesting none of the 3 goalies in Denver last year graduated or as I can tell went pro. Not sure he will play much.

Munson has to sit out this year thanks to NCAA rules, one of Denver's two scholarship goalies will be a senior this year, so he should seamlessly be able to take his scholarship and playing time in 2017-18.

If $ was a problem at UVM, how is he expected to pay for the year that he sits? He's too old to play another year of juniors.

Denver gave him a full ride for 4 years including his redshirt year. I'll take Jim Montgomery's judgement on talent over the three stooges any day. This was a huge mistake by Sneddon and crew.

But they have overextended themselves and have no money to give. Not a great thing to promise everything to everyone only to have to renege or disappoint. Like the show The Producers.
Still no word on more players leaving from you or in the press but I do know that some are waiting for the final allocation of the scholarship money and may bolt if not satisfied.

I will soon but want to give these kids extra time to work out other options. Some of them may take until mid summer to decide. I would be shocked if Stennerson is back for starters.

Well, Stenerson is not actually a departure from last year's team as he was not on last year's team. He stayed at the school as they honored his scholarship money for the year. Certainty he will not be back with the team and highly unlikely he will stay at the school without the scholarship money.

He was on the roster the entire year. Just another kid coming off a top ten on the team in scoring playing less games than others that has been pushed out.

Well he didn't practice with the team nor did he play. Gernhofer's picture is up there too and he left mid year, never to return.
I don't view Stenerson as a departure so far now, it is Munson, and that is it.
