Utica University 2025-26 - The Road (back) To Utica

You can always tell the who the noobs are since they have no recollection of the frozen four being played in an on-campus rink with 2,000 seats or less. Tickets always hard to come by if not impossible in Northfield the years Wick and Midd were both in it.

Alas, I forget that D3 hockey really didn't start until Utica started their team.

EDIT: I also forgot tickets in 2019 in Point were impossible. I guess Fishy can be excused, all that time during covid when he was pretending to be a doctor probably cooked his cabeza.
I know you weren't there so it might have slipped by you. Just last year tickets were nearly impossible to get at the Nexus Center. After Utica beat Curry, tickets to the final were sold out in less than a minute.

I had no reason to go to the 2019 FF at Point 🙁 but I do recall tickets for the QF round (SNC @ Point) selling out in minutes. I was fortunate to get tickets through SNC's allotment. Or maybe unfortunate given how that game went.

Thanks for agreeing with me that Fishy's statement was glaringly inaccurate. I appreciate the support.

What was he inaccurate about? It's not hard to fill a < 2,000-seat arena with a home team in the field Has there ever been a sellout in a 4,000-seat arena for the final 4? I think that was his point.

There was over 8,000 in attendance when SNC won its first (of 5) National Championships over SUNY Plattsburgh in 2008. You remember that game, right? Bryan Hince claiming that Marc Belanger had an NHL level shot on the game winning goal? Good stuff…

Did a little Googling...Plattsburgh and Elmira both had 4,000 when they hosted in the late 80s. Norwich hosted in late 90s and had a listed crowd of 4,733. That seems high for Kreitzberg but that's what the NCAA has listed.

So yes in D3 history there have been several sellouts with crowds of 4,000+ previously and crowds over 5,000+ in Lake Placid that weren't sold out because the size of the building. As Casey Stengel would say, you can look it up. It is easier to just make broad, sweeping statements though than spend 20 minutes checking.

No sense of history in Utica because the sun rises and sets on the Aud, apparently.

There were people in the upper deck at The Herbie but I dont think it was 8,000. That's capacity I think.

Belanger's rocket was the second goal. Pulak had the redirect for the first one that held up as the GWG.

I was at that one. It was indeed overflowing. I think the fire marshall took a vacation that day. LOL

7,700. The first year it was in the 5,000+ range and they did open the upper deck. It was not as you say ever 8,000.

I just looked it up and officially it was just over 5.6k for the semifinal against Norwich and just under 5k for the Championship against Plattsburgh. I don't know where I got 8K from but I swear I remember that being the attendance...

I thought that venue sat like 10-12K so that explains some of my confusion - maybe

Does coming in here and acting like an asshole make you feel good or what?
She's not "acting", believe me...

The "ignore" button is your friend here... I haven't seen any of her drivel for months now. And that's a good thing.

nubby is a pathetic little impotent troll who boasted rather recently (January of '25) that his Orange Shitstain hero had "brought the world to heel", and I only saw that idiotic bullshit because blocking her back then didn't include blocking her penis-envy-inspired anger when people quoted her. (This board has since cleaned that up, thankfully.)

Pretty-much tells you all you need to know about her ability to process facts, and her grade-school playground mentality. My 6 YO granddaughter is quite literally smarter and more emotionally mature.

OK, carry on!

So it’s been 30 years. That answers my question and still proves my point, that it’s a rare thing.

I feel bad talking about any other teams in this thread, so let's get this back on track. Utica played in it's first (and only for like the next 10 years) frozen four in Lake Placid in 2013. Not sure how far Utica is from Lake Placid, but that one only had about 1300 in attendance.

Yet again, more misogyny from you?

Do you honestly believe that Sir Nubs is a woman, or do you just think that using the pronoun “she” is somehow derogatory?

Its 3+ hours of backroading through the Adks and zero cell service. Its scenic but not an easy drive.

Angry. So, so angry. Take a Prozac once in a while. You'll feel better.
