Utica University 2023-24: The Rebuild????

Russ runs hot and cold.

"When he is good, he is very very good
And when he is bad, he is horrid."

Don't take it personally, Shabby... I try not to, when Russ has a bug up his *** about whatever.

Yet, in the net, he's a valuable resource on here.

I always used to think he was a solid guy, o well.

People who didn't watch the game are gonna look at the final and come say some nonsense, but you really cannot fault the effort there

They looked solid for long stretches of that game, but you can't spot a team like that 2 goals in the first, they're just too good

Onto next season with essentially the same team, so nothing but good things on the horizon. And to the haters, you have to remember something: this was the re-building season, and Utica was right there. The sky is the limit with this group it seems

Utica should be proud of the effort, I thought after the first 2 goals they might fold, but I held my breath til the open net goal . Great team that has a great future and deserves your support.

I came here to say basically the same thing. You beat me to it, and hit all the salient points.

UU was a bounce or two away from tying that thing today, but Hobart simply was a bit better.

Utica ought to be right back in the FF mix next year, and maybe go deeper into the PS... But I think that the Hockey Gods are waiting for me to die before they allow UU to win the whole enchilada.

On the bright side, they won't have long to wait.

(Insert winky face.);)

I would like to congratulate the perennial national power Utica Pioneers for doubling their alltime NCAA tournament wins total this season. Great season.

More final 4 appearances than perennial national power Norbert in the past 5 years though

Which has zero to do with the PERENNIAL NATIONAL POWER Utica doubling their all-time NCAA win total. Last I checked Utica and SNC won the same amount of games in this year's tournament. One each.

I am also thankful that Ray Biggs showed up to call a game in the final four this year after begging off of last year's finals after the Pioneers gagged in the quarters.

Now you are being a dickwad.

Ray had too many personal and real life work commitments to be able to go to the D3 tournament last year and work for the NCAA broadcast, especially since they added the rest day for the first time at the last minute.

Even this year, Ray had to jump through hoops. He drove to Hartford this morning, and even if Utica won, he was driving back tonight because he couldn't miss work on Friday. He then would have driven back to Hartford on Saturday.

Criticizing Ray for any reason whatsoever is definitely a dickwad move.

Utica fans should feel very good about their team's performance this season.

Look back over the years. It took St. Norbert a long time to break through. Steven's Point almost disappeared for a generation. It took Hobart a long time to break through. Etc. Etc. A lot of very good programs have still not won a national title.

Utica just went toe-to-toe with the defending national champ (who very well might lose in this year's final). Being the best is very hard...but your boys gave it everything they had and I suspect they'll be back in the mix next year. Congrats on an incredible season -one that every program in D3 would/should be proud of.

Honest question for Utica fans. I’ll take heat for this on from all the Utica faithful. At what point do you look at the head coach. Has the best setup for d3, a town behind the team, a national brand yet comes up small in every big game. Dont get me wrong I don’t think anyone beats Hobart this year at FF. But heenan has done a great job but he gets out coached every time he doesn’t have the best players. In no way shape or form they should even think about moving d1 and keep that coaching staff in place. They would get picked apart.

It's your fantasy, Russ. You can make it as big as you want.

I had to un-block you on here just to send this, so this is where we're at

Calling Ray's dedication and work ethic into question is just one of the most asinine things I've ever heard. He's one of the best we have in Division 3 and you truly have no idea what goes on behind the scenes in anything

I think I can speak for everyone here when I say: take your no-life Wisconsin ass and your crybaby head coach and FUCK right off

It's amazing how you can become the most hated poster on the D3 boards. You just don't know when to call it a day. Fishman is 10 times smarter than you. And for me to say that ....

You're the only ass in the world who can make me ally with every single Utica fan. Think about that. On second thought don't. You can't think.
