I know that this is supposed to be "tongue in cheek", but I have a hard time believing that no one has mentioned the bit I saw on the Net yesterday with "Anonymous" taking credit for the repeated HACK on the USCHO website keeping Utica at No 8? Just go to d3hockey.com and you'll see it must be true:D

I know it's completely pointless to converse over, but how do you Oswego fans justify Oswego moving up to the #2 spot in the USCHO poll? Put aside for the moment that the poll is meaningless blah blah blah etc.. Just how? I'm honestly curious.

Utica splits against a very good Hobart team, and Oswego barely squeezes by at home past a weak Morrisville team and they move you guys up? Like where is the logic there, I just don't see it. I believe if my memory serves me right, the USCHO poll voters actually moved you up after beating Cortland as well.

Utica beats good teams, goes no where. Oswego beats bad teams and moves up. Like huh? Just confused.

Yogi Berra wants his number back, we're sick of being at #8. We're deserving of more this season. I hope the NCAA Rankings in a few weeks are more accurate.

Who justifies it? (We do enjoy it - don't you?) Worry about stuff that matters...like getting this thread to page 4!

Well I just assumed Oswego fans did....? Guess not though :rolleyes:

I think it's hilarious because when the real rankings come out, it'll be so different much like the D3hockey.com poll that this poll will be even more laughable.

However, I'm still clueless to the point of this thread...

The point of this thread was that we were told that non-UC fans were not allowed to intrude on the UC thread, and so we should just go make a "Utica Sucks" thread and we can feel free to talk there. So it was done, mostly as a tongue-in-cheek respond to that very unusual statement by said UC fan.

Let's start with the easy one first - THERE IS NO POINT TO THIS THREAD (it's all Fishman's fault, and RIT is very happy about that). What if the NCAA poll doesn't resemble either "unofficial doesn't mean squat for recreational purposes only" poll? Now THAT'S comedy! Oswego fans don't care about these polls for this simple reason - We know what it's like to have been #1 and not win the last game of the year... (The line forming behind you are all the Platty fans happy to explain our misery to you...)

I find it funny that you took the time to actually explain this to Pioneers.

I also find it funny that Pioneers swears that these polls are meaningless and understands it, and yet bellyaches constantly about them. It would be like someone saying they hate the Jersey Shore, but continues to watch the show anyway.

They didn't move Oswego up. Oswego moved up basically by default, since Hobart, Bowdoin and SNC lost. And for the 1904th time, "barely squeezing by Morrisville" is the same thing as beating Morrisville 10-0 when it comes to the polls that you don't care about. You could only wish and desire that the polls were that simple for you.

I generally don't root against schools because of some of their fans, but Utica is testing me. :/

You sure that's all you're clueless about?

As for justifying Oz at number 2, I don't think they are but we have a little thing called the post season where we will find out if they are or aren't. Some of us have been there before and we know winning games in the regular season doesn't always mean it will happen in the post season. A word of advice, hold off on the chest puffing until after Utica is getting the gold trophy at center ice of the 1980 rink because that is the only time being number 1 matters.
