Utica Home Game and NYS High Shcool Final Four...

Re: Utica Home Game and NYS High Shcool Final Four...

"In the future, Utica might consider a contingency plan, if D-3 would allow them to play in the Clinton arena... That would be a lot better situation for everyone involved, and wouldn't afford UC any advantage in regards to siting, v. playing at home. (Excepting the better ice there, of course.) "

I can only wish. Won't happen but if it does I have my reserved spot on the rail in the old barn. I too am glad to see all parties involved trying to work things out so everyone's happy. It's not a perfact world but in the end, once the game starts, all will be forgotten and we'll be treated to a great hockey game. That's all that really matters IMO.

A contingency plan for a different facility would not work because of the NCAA rule that requires that a team playing at home should host the game at the facility that they used for a majority of their regular season games. A couple of years ago Hamline (when they were good) had to play on the road because the facility they rented had melted the ice and were converting to indoor soccer. They asked, and were denied, permission to host the game at a different facility - it's even worse because the alternate facility actually used to be their home ice.

At least it only lasted 1 OT ....Beekmentown (sec X) coughs up a late 2 goal lead to lose in OT...

BTW, there's a NYS Tournament for the Girls Tier II 14U this weekend in the Clinton Arena. It's a very full schedule. Thus, so much for that idea... :-)

Great work by CBA/JD! They were lucky enough to get where they are with 8 losses on the year. Proves that there is no quit in those kids.

Re: Utica Home Game and NYS High Shcool Final Four...

Game two ends just about on time....

John Jay scores 5 in the third to come from behind to beat Sec X St.Lawrence Centreal 6-4 (ENG). Not a good showing from the North Country so far...

Re: Utica Home Game and NYS High Shcool Final Four...

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Not you, because I believe you. The fact that the coaches of these teams allow that sort of celebration before reaching the ultimate goal is horrible, horrible coaching.

When you get a free minute, go on youtube and check out suffern-west genesee shoot-out from last year.

Anyone have an update on the HS tourney - are they on schedule?

I haven't seen any further mentions of OT after the first one. Apparently nobody can hold a lead, though - John Jay went into the third down 4-1 and took it 6-4.

Re: Utica Home Game and NYS High Shcool Final Four...

Any updates on the status of the last game would be much appreciated. Local sports radio is carrying girls' hoops, last I checked.

How did this day end up playing out? Did the Utica game start on time? The parking lot empty early enough, etc? It appears everything went as scheduled.
