First week in the books for some, so time to dust off the annual USCHO Poster Poll...

The theme for this weeks poll is...What's up with that?

1. Wisconsin - Gave up 2 power play goals to Lindenwood! What's up with that?
2. Minnesota - Allowed Colgate to score a goal against them! What's up with that?
3. Clarkson - The SCSU transfer had a 5 point weekend! What's up with that?
4. Northeastern - DNP
5. bc - Not to get too carried away, but bc actually played some defense! What's up with that?
6. Cornell - DNP
7. Princeton - DNP
8. BU - DNP
9. Ohio State - Muzzinator had them looking good right out of the gate against SLU, although they made Saturday interesting! What's up with that?
10 UMD - Evidently, The spectacle of the sequined jacket just won't go away! What's up with that?

I knew that they didn't play, my "What's up with that?", in keeping with your theme, was why NU (and BU for that matter), didn't play. I guess it is because they didn't schedule any games/exhibitions/hotdog-eating-contests, but the bar for asking seems low.

Anyway, it's good to have you back. :)

Pretty clueless on a lot of these teams early but I'm pretty high on BU.

Who has BU added this year that will make it better than someone like OSU? I'm not questioning your choice; I'm just totally ignorant regarding what BU has for new players. I know how much you love the Terriers, so if you like them, they have to be good.

Well, they lost almost literally nobody and got another year more experienced. I don't know anything about their freshman class though.

I only rank teams that have played, so ...

1) MN I know, I know, WI is the returning champ, they swept powerhouse Lindenwood last weekend, maybe a sweep of juggernaut PSU will be enough to push them as my #1, but seeing the speed of MN last weekend, and the fact that they swept the #2 in the RPI I have to go with them as my #1 who can argue against RPI?
2) WI Poor WI, the WCHA rule that prevents a transfer from playing immediately probably cost them a SCSU transfer, but somehow MJ will be able to juggle his lineup for a shot at a repeat.
3) Clarkson There’s still time to scour Quebec for a 20 something freshman or lure a transfer and move up in the rankings.
4) BC Like a Phoenix from the ashes, the Eagle will soar again!
5) OSU Muzzie, 'nuff sed
6) MSU does the M stand for Mankato or Minnesota?
7) Robert Morse c’mon, Mad Men was not that great of a series, so why name a university after him? He wasn't even the star.
8) New Hampshire like a phoenix from the ashes the … already said that and they are the Panthers not the Eagles and that was 20 years ago
9) Colgate Who can argue with the RPI?
10) Penn State they tied Holy Cross twice which is almost as good as beating them once.

The part I enjoy about these weekly polls is assigning teams to specific positions without the burden of knowing the first thing about them. Next, I will be filling out an internet survey on my favorite movies of the French New Wave Cinema of the 1960s.

Nice try. I'm curious how their speed suddenly got better with the addition of maybe 1 skater? (if I do recall correctly)

Someone died fairly recently at a hotdog-eating contest and I think a taco eating contest had a death by choking at a minor league baseball game this year. So maybe NU and BU are using their heads for more than a hat-rack as far as this goes...
