I like Skynyrd, and I love "Free Bird." Part of the joke is yes, whatever the current band is playing. Part of the joke is that it has been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO overplayed, and the last part of the joke is that it's the mating call of white trash.

It's just like yelling "STAIRWAY!" etc

That being said, "Free Bird" is not Skynyrd's best song.

I hate Skynyrd and Slave State Rock* and especially Slave State Rock fans, but "Gimme Three Steps" is one of the greatest story songs of all time.

* Lifetime exception to the Allman Brothers.

I have the iHeart app but don't listen to it too often. The first 5 that you post about, is that some sort of selection the app does for you based upon your interests?
