Ordered and received “Be My Baby” 7”. Jesus Christ, best pop song of all-time. Sorry Beatles.

Girl power soundtrack without Patti Smith, Kim Gordon, Chrissie Hynde, Kim Deal, Siouxie Sue, Suzy Quatro, Excene, or any member of the Runaways?

The 20 greatest pop songs came out of the Brill Building or Motown. The Beatles probably chime in first somewhere in the 50s.

Hell, Alanis Morrissette's first album is friggin' awesome. Obviously, "You Oughta Know" is serious FU power.

You now have homework. :)

Pro tip: do not listen to L7 (and maybe the Runaways) when on the highway. You risk a ticket for speeding. ;)

Also, Patti Smith's "Rock'n'Roll N***" is a great song, but should only be listened to in the comfort of your own home. :D

Corin Tucker as well! St. Vincent, Kori Gardner from Mates of State, the Wilson sisters... speaking of: https://youtu.be/HnhOv2PC68w

Listened to a few songs off "Jagged Little Pill" last night. Those are for a "**** you" playlist.

Re: USCHO Music Thread: Less Talk, More Rock

Also, the all but forgotten Mary Chapin Carpenter is pretty dang "girl power" on her album Come On, Come On, especially by country music standards.

"He Thinks He'll Keep Her", "The Hard Way", "I Take My Chances", and even the hilarious "I Feel Lucky".
