I've always thought her little rat face was super cute. The noises she emits, however, are execrable.

Plus, now she's added some after-market accessories.

Simple Minds - Street Fighting Years

Re: USCHO Music Thread 4: Songs She Sang to Me, Songs She Brang to Me

I know there were at least two other Taylor Swift fans on here. I've been listening to the new album, reputation, and it is as good as 1989. I really can't quite believe it. 1989 was one of the few pop albums I really enjoy and one of only a handful of albums made in the last decade I can listen straight through. reputation is quite different. Not even sure how to describe it. Where 1989 was just raw pop and a hard breakout from her country roots, this one is really an evolution of that. Good stuff.

I had this in mind by the end of your second sentence.

Kasabian - 11/1/14 Milan, Italy

Definitely a band I should try to see at some point.

Ride - Leave Them All Behind If I could have the skills to perform just 1 song in concert in front of a crowd this might be the song. Most likely I'd choose Comfortably Numb but LTAB would be a perfect dark horse choice.
The Stone Roses - I Am The Resurrection.

Gurt - since you've become a fan of Noel Gallagher lately he credits Ian Brown for being the final inspiration for him wanting to rule the world with music. Too bad that Ian Brown might have been even more bigger c**t than Liam and imho the band were awful live.

btw I think I recall some folks here saying they watched a recent Glastonbury show and saying they didn't recognize any bands or where underwhelmed but in looking at the 2016 and 2017 lineups they included Radiohead, The XX, Foo Fighters, The National, Alt-J, Lorde, Kaiser Chiefs, Liam Gallagher, Haim, Ride, Warpaint, Nadia Rose, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Run the Jewels, Muse, Foals, Tame Impala, Squeeze, Coldplay, Beck, Editors, Bastille, The Lumineers, New Order, Chvrches, James, LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, White Denim, Gary Clark Jr, Sigur Ros, Fatboy Slim, Jake Bugg, Band of Horses, Savages, Ronnie Spector, Mercury Rev, The Alarm, KT Tunstall, Billy Bragg...

Not saying I'm a personal fan of all of them but unless you've been hiding under a rock you should know all of them and especially if you still seek out new independent artists. And isn't it a 3-day festival with 20+ stages? There's bound to be some turds in the basket...

Acts I've heard of. Though, could be familiar with the others and having a brain fart.

But that looks like a fairly solid lineup.

Fixed that for you.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 4: Songs She Sang to Me, Songs She Brang to Me

I've heard of all of those and am a fan of some (many).

Even caught the "Waterboys" (Mike Scott) doing Whole of the Moon.

What is surprising is the main stage acts that are playing in prime time (after dark or late in the day) that I've never heard of... playing to 100000 people who clearly know who the acts are and are singing along.

It's all good. Mostly teeny pop that I wouldn't have bothered with even as a teen.

Wolf Alice brought the heat though. Tove Lo also, but I knew her big song as every high schooler that came through this house a few years ago was into it.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 4: Songs She Sang to Me, Songs She Brang to Me

I've heard of most of them, and heard music from most of them, and most of them do absolutely nothing for me. It's pleasant enough, and nothing really offensive to listen to, but also doesn't inspire me to want to go out and buy it either.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 4: Songs She Sang to Me, Songs She Brang to Me

Pranked the jukebox a little.

Christmas In Hollis, by Run DMC
Merry Christmas (I Don't Wanna Fight Tonight) by the Ramones
Christmas At Ground Zero by Weird Al

Yeah, got some WTeff looks. :D

Re: USCHO Music Thread 4: Songs She Sang to Me, Songs She Brang to Me

Most of those artists wouldn't "inspire" me either but at an event of the size I think that's pretty normal.

Couple more rockumentaries from AXS and MTV Live...

David Gilmour - Wider Horizons

Interviews and footage as David prepares for his most recent tour. Lots of background, footage around his home and on his recording studio boat, discussion about the song writing process and rehearsal footage.

Also a brutally honest assessment of his feelings towards his mother. Ouch.

Thankfully, nothing about Roger and their dynamic.

Loved it. So glad I made the effort to catch him on this tour.

RUSH: The Rise of Kings 1968-1981

Straight forward documentary and probably nothing new for a diehard, but as a casual to serious RUSH fan, I learned a few things. Good stuff.

Wish they had gone through Signals (my favorite), but understand Moving Pictures as the appropriate ending point for the story they were telling.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 4: Songs She Sang to Me, Songs She Brang to Me

Is Phil Manzenara still playing with him?

He did through the US tour last year so I got to see him.

The EURO portion had a different support guitarist and Jon Carin went to tour with Roger, so he was also replaced.

IMO, the new band wasn't as dynamic, but many Floyd heavies disagree with me on that.

I really like Carin and his slide on Fat Old Sun (and at least one other song) was a highlight for me and sorely missed from what I heard of the EURO shows.

But dang... the cool (many old Roman amphitheaters) venues he played over there.

I saw him at the United Center. :(

Bob Marley - All of it on shuffle.

A whole bunch of albums. 124 songs.

One love
