Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Earlier, was listening to Fountains of Wayne. Had never checked them out beyond knowing their song "Stacy's Mom."

There are actually quite a few really good songs on the two albums that I have - Sky Full of Holes & Welcome Interstate Managers. Songs that are nothing like "Stacy's Mom."

Good stuff and warrants further and deeper exploration.
I like their cover of Hit me, Baby, One More Time. It was unexpected.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Now listening to Bob Marley.

9 studio albums on shuffle.

Really sick of hit "hits"...

...the stuff that's on Legend, an album that every asshat in college and at a tailgate has and plays.

Enjoy his lesser known stuff a whole lot more.
I understand your hatred, but nothing like busting out "Legend" on the first TRUE day of warm weather (when you know it's gonna stay) and just chillin' with a stogie and a beer (or drink of choice).

The same could be said for Jimmy Buffett.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Got some new music from Amazon today:

"Moving Pictures"- Rush (never heard this one before, either)
"Hurry Up, We're Dreaming"- M83 (if "Before The Dawn Heals Us" was good, this should be fantastic)
"Even If It Kills Me"- Motion City Soundtrack
"Somewhere Under Wonderland"- Counting Crows (their first new work since Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings)

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Most of the music I've purchased lately has been good, but not "blow my hair to the back of the room" good. Currently listening to "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" by M83, and I'm blown away.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

We've been shuffling cars around lately, started one up to drive out to run some errands, and there was some really good music playing on the radio. I hadn't heard anything like it before.

It turns out that the radio was tuned to the classical station, and they have been broadcasting various Masses all week, for Holy Week. I just happened to catch one by an African composer. Hypnotic beat, harmonic vocals, melodious instruments, it was really infectious. If our Church had had music like that regularly, I'd still be going!

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Discovered She Wants Revenge is excellent interval-running music. "Checking Out" and "Sister" came up on my iPod yesterday and I was able to keep up with the beat.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

I need to back up my ipod classic onto a different hard drive. Any suggestions/help on the best way to do it?

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

So I'm backing up my iTunes hard drive onto a separate/second drive as I almost thought I lost it and the drive that I was using as a backup isn't big enough as it's also backing up my photos and work stuff.

I grabbed the letter A through the letter P and it's over 70,000 items, 900 GB and will take 16 hours.
