USCHO Fantasy Football 2012

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2012

Adrian Peterson seems overpriced in auction this year. It's pretty unlikely he puts up 2000 yards again. More like 1500 i'd say. Obviously that's still great. Just not sure i'd drop over half my bid money on it.

If the budget was still just $100 I would agree. However, ESPN has increased the budget to $200 which makes Peterson a bargain. So much of one that I am able to get two premium RB's. People aren't adjusting to the new budget for some reason. Not that I mind.

IIRC, no back who hit 2K has even hit 1500 the next year. Now, AP is a freak, no doubt, but still. There is history.

I sure hope Freeman makes you look like a rock star, but "he has had a good camp" is a different tune than his preseason game performance so far.

Also, which TB kicker did you pick up? Dimke, Tynes or Lindell? ;)

We have team K. And I only need Freeman for one week (he faces Arizona, IIRC, at TB).

Also, dunno if you know (some other posters know this from my past FFL posts), but this league is super basic scoring. Little yardage (not enough to matter). 6 for rush TD, 3 for pass/rec TD. 12 teams, 16 rounds, and most of us have been in this league for all 22 years it's been going, so it's tough to keep a sleeper secret. If you want someone like that, you WILL have to draft him a round earlier than you think, at the least.

I drafted DeAndre 2 rounds earlier than I wanted to, and as soon as I drafted him, a guy two picks away cussed me out, as that was his next pick.

Don't you draft team QB too?

That could turn out to be a pretty good receiver group depending on how Hopkins and Thompkins play out.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2012

No Team QB. That changed a year or two ago, finally. It's why we added the 16th round, and made it an "open" draft, rather than "must draft x number at each position."

Ah, gotcha. Not sure how TB's kicking sitch will play out, Tynes was probably going to be the guy, but he ended up getting MRSA in his kicking toe, so we signed Lindell. Dimke has looked good as well, but he is a rookie, so they may roll with the vets there.

Bucs play the Cards in week 4 at home. I'm (stupidly? maybe) flying back from a wedding in NY to make it to that one. Wedding is Saturday, into the night, and I'm waking up to drive 2+ hours and catch a 7am flight back. Ugh.

Yeah, GB is on the bye week 4, hence my Freeman pick (and lack of options at that point). I wanted HOU K (have had that for past....5-6 years?) but he was sniped from me. Had to roll with CIN K as my starter, TB was simply a throw-the-dart-pick.

Went with a LOT of rookies/really young players this year, usually don't do that, but the way the draft panned out, it just kinda happened. Having ARodg fall to me greatly affected my initial thoughts going into the draft. I was expecting something along the lines of Ray Rice/Giovani, and almost got to trade up to 7th to snag Alfred Morris (another guy made a better offer; Al went 8th).

Once ARodg fell to me, I was confident in my notes on 3rd-4th RBs to take AJ with the second pick, and take a chance with McFadden, while laying back on Giovani until the 3rd.

Picks that made the league go silent:
Kapernuts went 5th pick in the 2nd round
Jamaal Charles went 4th overall
Reggie Bush went 9th pick in the 2nd
LeSean McCoy 7th overall

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2012

I'm in the same league I have been in the last few years. Its a keeper league, with 10 teams and 30 roster spots for each team. Yeah, its deeper than a Kardashian.

I started off screwed over in this league 3 years ago, and had to deal with the results of an autodraft. My QB situation has been horse**** since. We have done the rookies only draft for 4 rounds each of the last 2 years.

Here's my ****ty, but slowly improving roster:

Jay Cutler, QB
Brandon Weeden, QB
Ryan Tannehill, QB
Kevin Kolb, QB
Reggie Wayne, WR
Wes Welker, WR
Denarius Moore, WR
Stevie Johnson, WR
Cordarelle Patterson, WR
Joshua Morgan, WR
Jerome Simpson, WR
Stephen Hill, WR
Nick Toon, WR
Dexter McCluster, WR
Arian Foster, RB
LeSean McCoy, RB
DeAngelo Williams, RB
Robert Turbin, RB
Brandon Bolden, RB
Kenjon Barner, RB
Mike Gillislee, RB
Jimmy Graham, TE
Kyle Rudolph, TE
Jacob Tamme, TE
Stephen Gostkowski, K
Mike Nugent, K
Mason Crosby, K
San Diego, D
New York Giants, D
St. Louis, D

I have a whole pile of WR, with some really young ones that have some pretty big upside (Hill, Patterson). I am hoping that I hit on a few of those, and can use some WR to bolster my extrememly thin RB stable. My RBs are really good at the top (Foster, McCoy), but after that it is nothing. I have a good core of high end guys with Foster, McCoy, Graham, Welker. I picked two rookie QBs last year in Weeden and Tannehill, I am hoping that one of them turns into a decent QB.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2012

Fantasy Football question, here is my team:
QB B. Roethlisberger, E. Manning
RB J. Charles, M. Lynch, D. McFadden, E. Lacy, R. Hillman
WR D. Thomas, D. Bowe, R. Wayne, V. Brown, L. Moore
TE G. Olsen, B. Myers
DEF Houston
K Zuerlein

I was disappointed not to get a better QB and have 2 offers on the table:

S. Jackson, M. Stafford for E. Manning, M. Lynch (This guy has Kaepernick, Stafford and Schaub)

R. Griffin (or possibly M. Ryan), R. Bush, H. Nicks, J. Jones for D. Thomas, M. Lynch, R. Wayne, B. Roethlisberger (or possibly E. Manning)

Thoughts?
Another guy has Peyton Manning and Tom Brady and could be up for a trade in a week or two.

I'm no expert, but I'd take the first one you mentioned, and go with Stafford as your QB.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2012

If you think RGIII is going to stay healthy Id say he has more potential to get you points than Stafford.
