Haven't had tongue, heart, or liver in awhile.

"Gross," you're probably thinking... but prepared right, tongue is delicious served with a warm mustard sauce.

Growing up, a neighbor family would host an annual pig roast, and the neighbors were all invited and would kick in some cash to the pot and get some pig, meanwhile all bringing some side dishes too. The father of that family would always save the tongue to be split between himself and his oldest son. They both loved it.

Tongue and heart are just non-skeletal muscles. One of the best things I ate in Chicago last summer were skewers of chicken hearts from a Japanese-style robatayaki joint.

I have a small case of organic applesauce in those little cups. They are just past expiration so I can't give them away. Need recipes. Heeeellllp!

I've had brownies made with applesauce instead of oil/butter (8th grade home ec).
Maybe try it in a baked good.
apple sauce substitute

Also, you can't go wrong with applesauce as a side for pork, or potato pancakes

Instead of oil/butter in brownies...?

Yes, very common in low-fat muffins. I've also heard of using prune baby food in brownies for the same purpose; retains moisture without adding fat/cholesterol.

Still sugar/white flour bombs, though.

I don't think I'd stray too far from the john if I ate a couple of those.

Some projects, since I've placed my other hobby on hold:

Onion jam
Tomato jam
The "Mother" sauces
All the quick breads/muffins from Fannie Farmer
Learning more ways to cook eggs
My birthday cake (12 days away)
Dutch baby pancakes
Pizza dough/homemade pizza night
Alton Brown's baby back ribs

I found a rogue box of Samoas tonight in the pantry. It said, "Use before September 9, 2017."

So I made dinner.
