USCHO-3 Fantasy College Hockey League, 2012-2013 Season

Re: USCHO-3 Fantasy College Hockey League, 2012-2013 Season

What's the decision on my situation since my snipes haven't been released yet? One isn't supposed to play until 8pm tonight, the other at 5pm tomorrow. So there is some time, and I have some players to drop who aren't playing anymore. IF they get released prior to their individual gametimes, I would assume (hope?) that I'm god to go.

You asked to have them released in time...I don't think anyone would hold that against you. You just have to make sure that you get them released before gametime, IMO.

Ya, I've sent zudnic a couple emails, hopefully it gets done. Stinkin' BADger fans not checking on things.

I fully support you being able to make some changes to get your snipes whenever they become available. :)

We're in a dead heat FS23, tied at 11 points each after Day One!
Watch out... my BC boys skate tonight. :)

You mean I'm winning 11-11 after day one, correct? :p:D:D

I need a big day from my goalies to win I think. Anything less than 8 points from Gothberg (who may not even start) and Hartzell would likely be a killer. Basically, I need to put together a nice lead after today because I only have 6 possible starters tomorrow (4 - F, 1 - D, 1- G), while you have 9 possible starters (5/6 - F, 2 - D, 1/2 - G). I figure I need probably a 6-8 point lead after today (or just the perfect storm of outcomes) to have a shot tomorrow.

Either way, it's been fun, and I stand a decent shot at winning the overall points battle even with a loss. Also, I've put together a very rudimentary rulebook. I made a few changes/alternations where I saw fit/didn't remember the rule. Obviously, all of that will get debated about and changed, but the overall framework is there.

Re: USCHO-3 Fantasy College Hockey League, 2012-2013 Season

Tied again, err, you're winning, 23-23 after day 2.
You have the edge, or achilles heel, with Hartzell. ;)

Here's what we've got...
FS23:
F Dowd, Nic (F/St. Cloud State)
F Jones, Kellen (F/Quinnipiac)
D Gostisbehere, Shayne (D/Union)
G Hartzell, Eric (G/Quinnipiac)

FiveHole:
F Hanowski, Ben (F/St. Cloud State)
F Murphy, Cody (F/Miami)
F Jones, Connor (F/Quinnipiac)
D Dalhuisen, Mike (D/Quinnipiac)

If I had just had the guts to go with Jeff Malcolm, G, Yale, I would just be waiting to hear the fat lady sing.
I sat him in on Friday and went with one goalie on the active roster. Who woulda thunk he'd beat Minny?

You're forgetting that I have Curtis McKenzie (F/Miami) who had the game winner yesterday (unless he was injured and I missed it). Here's how I see it breaking down...

Hanowski > Dowd - You probably have a good chance to be about a +2 or +3 here. However, Dowd holds a slight edge in points scored this season (but nothing of late).
Connor > Kellen - These guys play on the same line (usually), but Connor is scores more often. I would say you have a shot to be about a +1 or +2.
McKenzie > Murphy - This is another close matchup, but McKenzie has slightly better numbers. I wouldn't be surprised if this was an E, but I would weight it a +1 advantage in favor of McKenzie.
Gostisbehere > Dalhuisen - This might be the biggest discrepancy between any of the "matchups." I would say Gostisbehere is probably a +1 or +2 favorite.

So, if we add those up, I think we are pretty close today with these four skaters, with you probably having a slight edge somewhere around +1 to +3. Which means...

Eric Hartzell...if Quinnipiac wins (assuming he doesn't let in 5+), it is highly likely that I can at least tie (win), and if Hartzell has a good game (90+ Save%), I would say that probably tips the balance in my favor. If Quinnipiac loses, my only chance is that Hartzell plays a good game (90+ Save%). That would at least give me a point.

Anyway, it should be an interesting day. I won't be watching the games really due to Easter, but good luck, and may the best GM win.

Also, Happy Easter.

Re: USCHO-3 Fantasy College Hockey League, 2012-2013 Season

I believe (if my math is correct) that MadisonsHeros leads 18-17. Both of us have 5 players going today:

MMH: Peca (Q), Carr (U), Czarnik (M), Bodie,M (U), Barron (Q)

HPP: Jooris (U), Arnt (Q), Kossila (S), Coburn (U), Porochno (S)

I've got my work cut out for me to pick up an extra point, but it's certainly possible.

Congrats FS23. A hard fought battle.

Thanks. It was definitely a coin flip yesterday.

I do have one, two-part question. As a result of MMH taking down HP1015, does he inherit the #1 seed for tiebreaking purposes and win any tiebreaker in the next round? Or, is the inheriting of seeds simply to keep the format for the bracket, and it does not deal with tiebreaking procedures (i.e. I win any tiebreaker due to being the #2 vs. #5)?

I have always been under the impression that there is no re-seeding, so you would be the higher seed going into this final.
