The poll that has my team ranked higher!.....but seriously, I look at USCHO first. It's focus is college hockey, I put more stock in it that the USA Today poll.

Totally agree.
I only really care about Pairwise. Polls in college hockey are window dressing.
Since USA Today barely, really, even covers college hockey I'm not sure why they even bother, though.

Technically, the pairwise only matters on Selection Sunday
However, the January 1 pairwise are 72% accurate for who makes the final field. By the end of February it's 91% (and actually dips slightly during the conference tournaments).
