Apparently because I was on AT&T internet at work, it let me watch the game earlier without entering any account info. Now that I'm trying to watch a game on Time Warner internet, I'm prompted to enter the account info before I can watch. Lame.

Canada just destroyed Russia 7-3. It seems that they have finally gelled as a team. This is one team that I do not want the U.S. to face in the gold medal game. They outplayed us and lost only because of Miller but I don't think the U.S. could pull it off again.

Lets all become fans of team Sweden tonight because they have the best chance of knocking the Canadians off in the Semi's.

Canada played well but Russia had the spine of a jellyfish and the heart of the Tinman tonight.

Seriously though, Canada looked very very dangerous. In their game against the U.S., even though they controlled the play, they lacked the ability to finish but they seem to be firing on all cylinders now.

Lets hope Sweden can stop their momentum.

The Russian defense was garbage. They would have made the Gophers look potent.

I'm hoping that we don't meet Canada in either medal game.

Agreed. Someone forgot to tell them that this wasn't an all-star exhibition and that defense and corner work were expected.

What a letdown of a supposed great match-up.

Yeah, I suppose you are right, both the Czechs and Finns are dangerous and we should overlook no one.

It's because the US game wasn't broadcast live.

I think it was because the game was on NBC (network television) vs. CNBC or MSNBC (cable) and they don't want to let you watch the feed if you don't pay for the channel it is on. But NBC is free.

living in japan i hardly get to see any of the hockey games. i did get to listen to the USA-Canada game (about half of it.)

in any case, i was just wondering if someone could please tell where the US is lacking game-wise?

i read most of this thread, and it seems as though the US team needs to work on the transition game (neutral zone) and, as of late, the powerplay? does this hold true? likewise, is there anything else i am missing?

Our defense needs work, and our passing in the defensive zone needs work. Too many turnovers when Canada isn't even pressuring the puck carrier.

of all things, defense ought not to be an issue. it had better be ironed out come tomorrow with our game against finland. they've had our number these past few years.

i was also wondering, i saw on nhl.com that backes was getting into it with some of the cats on the canadian national team, i am presuming this was intentional? moreover, i wonder if it worked/had some effect on them!?:confused:
