Re: US Junior Team Part II

Dave, I don't think "every living room in America" is watching this telecast. Canada, maybe.

Re: US Junior Team Part II

I love the shot of the bench. :)

OK, sorry folks. That was totally off-topic. Back to this game.

Who is this assistant coach?? Is he an NCAA coach somewhere?

Oesiki (Burnsville, MN) is one asst. IIRC from WI and the other is Tom Ward from Shattuck-St. Mary's

Re: US Junior Team Part II

It's really the best part of what happens if we win. We shrug our shoulders and go to work in the morning, they feel like they got kicked in the nuts.

As opposed to them partying well into the night while we shrug our shoulders and go to work in the morning.

Exactly. Would I love it if the US team beat Canada? Am I gonna be angry if they don't? No.

BTW, Alaska has 25 times the awesomeness of Canada, why? It looks exactly the same but it's not Canada. :p

And that, my friend, is the difference between our countries. Yes, hockey is huge in many parts of the US, but it will never be the religion that it is north of the border.

I was in college during the Canada - Soviet series in 1972. The entire country literally came to a standstill to watch the final game from Moscow. Compare that to 1980, when the Miracle was taped-delayed on ABC, while CBC aired it live.

That is what makes it so much more awesome when we kick Canada's *** tonight. Which is what others are trying to say...

Yeah, except you're having national aneurysms or orgasms based on what a bunch of 19 year olds do. Frankly, the WJC is what it is. Teenagers playing hockey.

Oh, and it's 3-2 in favor of the Uncaring Southerners of America.
