Domestic news got you down? Here, have some of this.

I picked the wrong decade to live on a direct line between Fort Detrick and Mount Weather.

It's the Daily Mail so it may be bullsh-t. I hope it's bullsh-t.

Vladimir Putin has sacked every single commander in Russia's Baltic fleet in what has been described as a 'Stalin-style' purge.
Up to 50 officers of the fleet were fired alongside Vice Admiral Viktor Kravchuk and his chief of staff Rear Admiral Sergei Popov after they reportedly refused to follow orders to confront Western ships.

I saw this last night. I thought it was a joke. I can't remember the last time we had a Secretary of State that was a complete lunatic. Actually a lunatic.

He's on the record saying Obama is a Kenyan something or other. In what universe does this make sense when you are going through a tumultuous exit from the EU and need as much support as you can get from your other allies.

I had hopes for this new government coming out of the ashes of the old, but clearly they are morons.

Turkish Delight now continuing from the other thread.

Re: US Foreign Policy: The Wogs Begin at Calais

The US has 26 bases in Turkey including an important AF base in the south where they stage for anti-ISIS sorties. Formal US policy is to stand by the democratically elected government (Erdogan) even though quite honestly they were worried about the drift towards theocracy.

There are definitely citizens being shot in the street by the military, live on CNN.

Re: US Foreign Policy: The Wogs Begin at Calais

I can't believe I'm saying this, but CNN so far is doing a fantastic job. They've got a bunch of contacts on the scene and they're not doing their usual hairdo / pundit crap. Wolf is nowhere to be scene.

Tldr:

The lower ranking parts of the military have arrested the top generals who were Erdogan surrogates. They are trying to take control of government now.

The Turkish military is charged with protecting the secular original message of the founder. They have staged coups once every 20-30 years to remove a government they deem too religious.
