US Foreign Policy 4.0: making the world safe to flee to if the MAGAts win here

And your fix for that was electing an idiot.

Congratulations. I hope you enjoyed the murders. We got to see them on video. Wasn't it fanfuckingtastic?

And yet you were one of the people on here telling me "The Economy is doing great!" in the summer of '24 along with Handy and others despite seeing my finances come under great strain. You dismissed the "Price of Eggs" argument as it was happening. You didn't care and dare speak up then, but now you have full-on toddler-like meltdowns like this when it's been the same through all this.
Eggs spiked because of bird flu and corporate greed, not because of Biden's policies. Unfortunately, most Americans don't care to understand how the market actually works.

You're right, they don't. And when someone like me, who knows just basics, brought up that I DON'T know what all the acronyms and other Wall Street jargon that was being used to indicate a healing economy meant, I was dismissed. When I pointed to things like a grocery bill and everyday spending, which is what 80% of gen-pop use as an economic indicator, I was told that "That's not a driving factor and that people need to view the bigger picture". That was a fatal choice by the Dems. They doubled down on Gen Pop being able to look at the complexities of the entire economy. They talked over the heads of many people on that front and lost as a result.

Everyone here knew that Dump was gonna make things worse. The Dems failed at simplifying the message down to something that suburbanites in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania could understand. They gambled on those people caring what the S&P 500 and Wall Street did instead of what their grocery recipts said. The Dems didn't fail on principle here, they failed on marketing their ideas. That is the entire point of the rant(s) I've made here on the subject matter.

The price of eggs was entirely caused by avian flu and the associated cullings of huge chicken CAFOs. Good luck getting the same people who willingly vote for Trump to understand a nuance like that, though, especially post-COVID.

Beyond that, you can blame the Dems to a point for not having better messaging if you want, but when someone is willing to vote for Trump, who has been a known con man for 40 years, who literally bankrupted a casino, and was a disaster in his first term, then I lose all sympathy for them and their economic pain. Trump will hurt them more than me, so fuck 'em.

They didn't fail on marketing their ideas. People didn't want to listen. They dismissed them out of hand, because Donnie told them he'd lower prices day one, and that's all they wanted to hear.

Nobody even knew about Kamala's money to buy a new home, money to start a small business, any of the other things she was proposing to help make their lives better. Cause they couldn't be bothered to take the time and listen to what she was going to do. Just that Donnie said he'd lower prices on day one.

Plus, she was black, and laughed funny.

Don't forget scary. That was one scary lady.

In my opinion these last exchanges demonstrate an important dynamic that can't help but personalize politics. It's a social fact that this happens.

Dump's policies have lethal consequences. The stakes are high. It is very hard for nuance to exist in that environment because Dump himself is not nuanced, he is a loathsome wrecking ball. So the people who enable him, for whatever reason, have that to answer for. They have opposable thumbs and agency. They own his actions.

The details of their reasons (excuses?) for enabling him ring hollow when you step back and look at the sheer devastation of his actions. Millions dead because he killed USAID on a whim. 500k additional Americans dead from COVID during his first term directly due to his ineptitude, lying, and corruption. Tens of thousands dead in Gaza and now Lebanon from him giving Bibi carte blanche. Tens of thousands of people in the US lives' uprooted by his ICE thugs, including many murders by that paramilitary. Thousands already dead from his Iranian Excursion with many more to come. Ukraine and by extension Europe in a much more vulnerable position given his sabotage of NATO and his enmity for the EU, in the service of his Putin oligarch bromance. Xi stronger and Taiwan at grave risk. Anti-democratic forces everywhere stronger. And then the economy wrecked. Again. As he, his crime family, and his cronies steal and take bribes.

That is Dump's record, and the GOP's for slavishly servicing him out of fear. Republican voters own that, now and forever. They did that.

So given that devastation it is galling to try to split hairs about what their motives are. It's like analyzing the motives of a rapist. No doubt they exist. No doubt understanding them might help stopping it from happening again. But every fiber of our being cries out to just geld the asshole.

Many of those "economic anxiety" folks have subtle racism, they'll just never admit it. They don't have to confront it because they aren't overtly racist.
this. economically unhappy oh booo hoo. these fucking morons aren't better off, they are worse off. People will try and defend it all they want because of their embedded "BSABSVR" mindset but you can't fix stupid.

I now refer to one of my aunts as "the racist fat cunt" and no one in my family disagrees. She can send her crotchfruit to war

I'm pretty sure I wasn't one of them, as I was already unemployed by then and knew nothing was going to get better soon.

but, I mean, cutting taxes for the wealthy and driving up inflation was not going to make things cheaper, and I don't know how to make people understand that. Eggs, for instance - were up because of the culling, which was due to illness. The party that hates all regulation is likely to have an even worse crisis now since chugging raw milk is the new tagline.

I know you get this, but if your average voter is so dumb as to believe an R will make things cheaper, I dunno what to say.

The great irony is the majority of the people who would not survive without public assistance have been the ones destroying public assistance for the last 40 years. What did they expect when they straight ticket voted for the ideology that cuts the set asides that keep the left behinds alive? They are the left behinds. They are the ones who couldn't hack it in the modern world.

And now they will face the consequences of their votes. When this is over we had better not make the same mistake again. Stop having blanket relief programs. Target the people who don't turn around and vote to fuck their neighbors. Stop subsidizing malevolence.

Their god is omnipotent, I hear. He loves them so much? Let Him take care of them.
