Yeah Putin seems real concerned about sanctions...this is real fucking bad. He knows no one wants war and he is going to push Europe to the brink.

To the surprise of no one, Belarusian troops are fighting alongside the Russians

Don't worry, Biden's really gonna hit em with some big ones today!!! Aside from actually intervening with military force i don't think anything will work. So then it's a question of should we get involved in that regard? Ideally no but at what would be the breaking point?

A NATO country gets attacked, and we’ll have World War III. That’s the “breaking point.” Biden has said time and again he doesn’t plan to start World War III over Ukraine. You can disagree or not, but at least he’s been clear. Sanctions are the next best option. They’ll work to an extent. If Europe can cut off some of the money flowing for oil/gas, that helps too.

Sounds like Italy is concerned about Gucci and Ferarri in the sanctions package. And Belgium is concerned about diamonds.

Hey, both of you:
1. Fuck off
2. This isn't a choice

Switzerland should be put on notice too. Fuck those guys if they hold up banking sanctions.

We'll end up funding an insurgency program. This will turn into a long haul crisis, like Afghanistan was for both Russia and USA.

Here's my question, how do things get across the border? We can send them all the money in the world, but if russia controls the ports and borders....

I thought I saw somewhere that this was initially their position, but they're now on board. Italy and Belgium, that is. Not sure about the Swiss.

Richard Engel tweet:

Advisor to Ukrainian interior ministry says Russian forces entered Chernobyl and that fighting there destroyed a nuclear waste storage facility.

Engel now "clarifying" that the fighting "may disturb" nuclear materials. Jeebus engel...
