Guaido against Maduro
Back in the day, the US would send a few companies of Marines in and then the guy favored by Standard Oil would win.

Ah, the good old days....

Meanwhile, halfway around the world, Emperor Akihito of Japan has abdicated and his son Naruhito will ascend the Chrysanthemum Throne.

If Guaido hasn't flipped a majority of the military, I don't see how this ends well...

Erik Prince wants to send his "volunteers" there

You want a clear majority either way. The worst that can happen is the military splits evenly. Then it's a civil war.

Even if the military splits 70/30 either way it could still kickoff a lengthy guerrilla campaign.

💥, right on. Rockefeller’s et al would call up Dulles or Helms etc and cry foul until a Wall Street friendly dictator was installed.

It's how it's done. Domestically the United States has been, until recently, and obviously with enormous exceptions, a fairly progressive nation. Internationally it's always been just another pig at the trough.

Oh good. A carrier group and a stealth bomber task force sent to threaten Iran. And we effectively threatened them explicitly. All because Iran was reportedly planning an attack on US assets.

Wag the dog! Wag the dog! Wag the dog!

Fox is hyperventilating about it this morning. Biden scares him a lot.
