UPEI @ RPI, Sunday, 10/7/18

Re: UPEI @ RPI, Sunday, 10/7/18

Not a bad first period. Once again have to get crisp on the passing, hopefully that will come with time. Saw the goal again, and it was definitely coast to coast. That's not going to work against most of our opposition; we really gotta buckle down and focus on good shots.

Re: UPEI @ RPI, Sunday, 10/7/18

Really impossible to evaluate after 20 minutes as we have no idea of the level of the competition. But i was a bit surprised that we did not get pushed around for what i consider to be a bit undersized team. Face offs? We still lose too many of the important ones in our own zone. At least i have the feeling that i want to see more.

Same here; I'm not wishing I were watching Classic Concentration reruns. :p

Faceoffs are 11-6. Or for the obsessed, :):):)*:):), :(:(:(^:(:(+:(:(. :p So you're not wrong that there's "regression" there, but it's tough to say that from 20 minutes, and that will come with practice.

One thing I do hope for: If we're going to be offensive minded and up-tempo, let's stick to it, rather than over-compensate into a shell, like last year.

They lost to QU yesterday 5-2 if that helps.

impossible to judge and we really have to go by how they look on our ice against us. They most certainly are not Cornell or Princeton. But, we have not looked too bad as yet and I am looking forward to another 20 minutes.

Re: UPEI @ RPI, Sunday, 10/7/18

I see some things haven't changed... like taking a penalty 200 feet from our net...

And it's not like it was questionable, either. Blatant boarding.

Re: UPEI @ RPI, Sunday, 10/7/18

This DiGrande kid is something we've needed in the opposition's end. Hope he keeps that fire for his entire career, and he'll do great things.

DiGrande seems to have done more today than he did all last year for Green Bay. Maybe turk181 was right that he could be like Mark Miller.

Now the D-man's going coast to coast... I have a bad feeling about what we saw offensively...

I talked a couple weeks ago with someone who knows DiGrande from the junior leagues in Detroit (at least a couple years back and before Green Bay). He said DiGrande is quite dynamic and should be a fan favorite. Of course we've heard that about others over the years and didn't pan out that way at RPI.

DiGrande's name apparently should be pronounced Di-Grahn-Day.
