Hey, if ain't broke you don't fix it
....unless its a scoreboard...
So, Would I be out of line by saying that Elmira's only chance of "saving face" is to win the ECAC-W? No hope now for NCAAs.
3-2 cards win
.
And Castleton shows their colors at the end.
Yep and some of the Castleton fans were calling the Plattsburgh players Wuss's for not dropping the gloves and fighting back.
Penalties that I saw at the end of the 3rd Period, that went uncalled:
PLT #39 Jared Docking - 2min Unsportsmanlike (Shooting after the whistle)
CST #17 Nick Lazorko - 2min Hitting After the Whistle
CST #17 Nick Lazorko - 5min Hitting from behind
CST #17 Nick Lazorko - Game Misconduct or Disqualification (result of the Hitting from Behind)
Perhaps throw in a roughing to both players as well. The Hitting after the whistle can also be a major and game misconduct, at the referee's discretion. Docking's was the THIRD instance of a flagrant shooting after the whistle penalty (the first two were both called in the first period)
Basically, Docking put the puck in the empty net after the final buzzer, Lazorko skated all the way across from the Castleton Bench and hit Docking into the boards, Docking turned to confront his attacker, and the referees then separated the two.

They were called - Docking got 10 & Lazorko got 15 - for the game Plattsburgh took 2 for 12 & Castleton 5 for 21.
