I don't post often, but I need to vent :)

I've been a season ticket holder since 1999/2000 and live in the Twin Cities. It's getting more and more difficult to justify the time investment when the product is lackluster effort and a half full venue. This team has way too much talent to be losing games like they are. Other things that are bugging me...

- Where are the students? Can we start giving them free booze or something so they show up and actually make some noise?

- If you want to be classy, top rate hockey program start acting like one. That fiasco last weekend with Hedican was bush league. Why on earth would you not advertise the **** out of that event? I had no idea it was going down and ended up missing most of it. Then to top it off you can't even figure out how to drop a banner?? - insert Jan Brady banner jokes here- It was embarrassing and felt like something you'd see at 2nd rate D3 school in Nebraska :eek:

- Hepp can be a moron. The last penalty he took on Saturday that led to the tying goal was shear stupidity.

Ok, I think that's enough therapy for now...

A lot of this boils down to dumbass athletic department. They've got numerous "directors" that have fundraising and marketing as part of thier job tiltle and description. They live so exclusively in academia, that they're out of touch with the fans and community. Holy fock, when they have an event like Hedican's jersey being retired, and they don't even promote it. The school's concessions are worse than any other venue I've ever been in, including numerous high school hockey arenas. They try to squelch the student's enthusiasm, which is what really creates the environment. I think everyone gets sick of lackluster efforts, but it seems like a constant theme--maybe it's something in the building, the air filtration system, or the ghost of the llama, whatever, but it really blows. Plus, I think Morris blows goats.

Today's fact that proves this thought of a Maverick sweep is ridiculous: The last time SCSU was swept would be Oct 9/10, 2009 at Miami. 1) This is not a road series. 2) You are no Miami. The last time SCSU was swept at home was against Denver, December 7/8, 2007. (Husky fans, you'll remember that sweep was capped off by "The Rakhshani Finish.") Since that time, we've completed sweeps of a home and home sweep of the Gophers, @Quinnipiac, hosting Michigan Tech three times, hosting Brown, @ Anchorage twice, hosting Duluth, hosting Denver, hosting Robert Morris, hosting Mercyhurst, and hosting Wisconsin.

What's all this talk of sweeps? Yeah, I agree that if UNO thinks that they will sweep us in the NHC they better get a psych evaluation, and I would like nothing more than to see a Husky sweep myself but I consider myself a realist and predict a split, UNO Friday, Huskies Saturday. UNO has shown that they can play with the big dogs and we've shown that we can't play 120 minutes. That said, we can play probably play 60 and probably will.

Or we can play 50 minutes of hockey and get by on the skin of our teeth one night....

If we can get a decent power play going, we'll sweep. UNO isn't afraid to take penalties, so we'll have some time to practice. I'd just as soon see them shoot the puck on the power play. It's kind of boring watching passing drills.

Criticism is fine. My problem is people who after 10 games say this squad can't or won't go to the frozen four because of how they've started the season. This season has started just how last year did, giving games away, Roe struggling to find scoring, defensemen adjusting to new roles, greater responsibility...etc. I'm frustrated by their effort to start this season too and **** right we play to the level of our competition and I think its because they think the games are easy against lower level competition when it never is. They figured that out last year, i think they will again this year. And when they start bringing the effort they are capable of to match the talent they have, they will be a team to watch out for.

Relax..... Who said they can't make the frozen four? All anybody is saying is that they have way to much talent to playing this way and if they keep it up they won't get to where they and all of us think they are capable of getting too. there is no reason to sugar coat the bad start.

I'm relaxed, always am.
And no one is sugar coating anythign, but it's also not time to throw in the towel, and I've seen a lot more of that type of talk than I have any confidence these guys can turn it around, like they did last year.

I don't think Mav Fan talked about a sweep. I'm lead to believe that they are not common or easy to come by. I need to go get my radio going to hear the game.

P.S. Start counting goals, there's a beer on the line in Feb.
