UNO at Denver - Saturday 1/12/13

Re: UNO at Denver - Saturday 1/12/13

Zombo and Mayfield tie up and exchange pleasantries. Jay says: "That's a fight he'd never win." LOL

Pios need some energy for the OT

Congrats to the Badgers this weekend.

Sconnie won twice this weekend in OT for first Overtime win since 2006. 33 game streak going 0-10-23. Wow.

DU was involved in six of those OT decisions going 3-0-3 against Sconnie.

Game over: 3-3 your final. Knowlton put one right on Faulkner on that last face off.

At a minimum, Larraza is having a really hot streak. He may be coming in to his own as an offensive force. He's really firing the puck with velocity and triggering lots of plays. DG may be right, a 7th round steal. He and Walters were the two best players on the ice this weekend.

Re: UNO at Denver - Saturday 1/12/13

Denver began the season with a ten game stretch in which it posted a W-L-T record of 9-1-0. The Pioneers followed that with a stretch in which they posted a W-L-T record of 0-5-3. With this evening's outcome the Pioneers now have a five game streak in which they've gone 4-0-1.

Put in slightly different terms, the current winning streak turns the team's eight game winless streak and current successful streak into a more palatable 4-5-4. Glad to get three points and Denver may have been at least slightly lucky to do so.

A horrid weekend for Makowswki as he was -3 last night and -1 tonight for a -4 on the weekend. Quite disappointed in Knowlton as he was a nonentity this weekend.
