Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

Minnesota has an economy about 100 times bigger than ND, so I doubt anyone would lend you enough to buy us out. I would be willing to sell you a few of my favorite politicians as a try out, though. Do you have any good ones to trade? Do any of them like to build football stadiums?
You could have Byron Dorgan. He's retiring, so he'd fit right in with Brett Favre. :D

Sioux hockey in demand. Sioux in two grand openngs this year! :D

Seems to show that at least in the WCHA if you want your new hockey arena's Grand Openning to be a success that the Sioux are the #1 choice for guest of honor.

Interesting how the article seems to sort of hide the fact that North Dakota opened both sites.
(The Gophers will play at UMD on Dec. 10-11 and at BSU on March 4-5, the last weekend of the regular season.)

Bemidji State will open the Robert H. Peters Rink at the Bemidji Regional Events Center on Oct. 15 vs North Dakota while Minnesota Duluth will open the new Amsoil Arena in Duluth against the Sioux on Dec. 30 in the non-conference U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game.

Maybe they thought that if one team opened against North Dakota and the other opened against the Sioux that the gopher fans wouldn't get jealous.:D

Toews in the news again.

Interesting story about his first pair of skates.

Toews' dream started at his third Christmas when, at only 2 1/2 years old, he received his first pair of skates as a gift from his grandparents. As he mentioned, they were purchased at a Canadian Tire store in Quebec. Toews would make his grandfather help him put his skates on as soon as he woke up, Andree Gilbert, Toews' mother, told NHL.com.

"My dad would say, 'We have to eat breakfast first and then we'll put your skates on,'" Gilbert said. "Jonathan wasn't having that. He would say, 'No, we have to put the skates on first and then we'll eat breakfast.' So my dad would put (Jonathan's) skates on and he would wear them in the house for the rest of the day, walking around pretending he was skating."

Saying "North Dakota" twice in the same sentence would be redundant.

It'd be like me posting this: "SoCalSiouxFan posted an article about BSU and UMD opening their arenas against UND because SoCalSiouxFan is insecure about the twin cities media trying to hide the fact that UND is opening two teams' arenas."

Next time you want to complain about how an article is written, maybe you should try taking a college level composition class first.

Bakunin is mean to other posters, but Bakunin is sometimes right even though Bakunin smells funny.
