University of North Dakota-2015-2016-Seaason

Re: University of North Dakota-2015-2016-Seaason

Hey, we'll trade you guys. You can have any of our three....deal?? You know, since our programs are pretty much on the same level.

A lot of Banner-hungry fans in GF would take 10 bad goalies if Deano was included. And the blazer.

Re: University of North Dakota-2015-2016-Seaason

Haven't seen anything on him. Would you bring him in anyway at this point in the season?

No way. Redshirt him. The two goalies that have played are both very good, even though you aren't convinced they are. Some people on SS think he won't stay 4 years but why take a chance and lose a year of eligibility?

That was my same thought. He would leave early. Unproven and all.

You keep quoting that "same level" stuff... You know, that was a st cloud fan who said that in that previous post.

I'm pretty sure gomavs#1 was joking. Poking fun at Redcows.

This. Totally was the case. Haven't heard from him since the pounding you guys put on them in the Saturday game. Getting swept pretty handily by Miami at home probably didn't help either.

Good shot for you guys to pull ahead in the NCHC race this weekend. WMU didn't provide a lot of resistance in the last series vs. SCSU.

Thinking a 7-3 finish by UND is nearly a lock for you getting the conference title. At least that's what it looks like to me when comparing the remaining games for both teams. 6-4 could very well get it done.

Yeah, I don't know about this.

Both teams still face Omaha on the road and Duluth at home, so that's a toss up. SCSU goes to Miami, but UND goes to Denver. I think that favors SCSU. The last week of the year has SCSU at CC and UND hosting WMU, so that favors UND, but I think only slightly. CC is improving, but SCSU on the big ice is really dangerous. I don't see CC posing too much of a problem for SCSU.

That makes this weekend pretty critical for UND, and WMU at home can be completely different than when they are on the road, so you never know.

CC played St. Cloud pretty well on the big ice when they played at the NHC. Earning a split. CC even managed to score more goals that weekend than St. Cloud. Which is pretty darn impressive considering how lethal SCSU's offense is.

Yeah, CC is no pushover. Hopefully they can keep the turnaround going. Sad to see how far their program has fallen.

And a few of our players admitted they looked at CC's record and thought it would be easy.
Something that better not happen when we meet them again.

I can't imagine that 7-3 wouldn't win the title. Don't forget that UND has two games in hand. St. Cloud only has one more home series and eight conference games left; UND has 2 home series left. And you have to figure four games against WMU will be four wins for UND.

And I'm sure both our squads figured the CC games would be sweeps too.
No counting games in hand in this league, it's too good.
Plus while UND has played two less games, it's actually just one game in hand as SCSU has a 3 point lead.

Agree with a lot of points made by you and others on this. I'm looking at it from a "most likely" view but anything can happen in this league. The only thing I'd rule out for both of these teams is either getting swept in any of their remaining series. Again, possible but highly unlikely.

Breaking it down for each:
SCSU - split at Miami, split at UNO (depending on UNO goaltending), split at home vs. UMD and sweep at CC.
UND - sweep at WMU, split at Denver, split at home vs. UMD, split at UNO (same goaltending caveat), sweep at home vs. WMU.

That puts UND at 56 points and SCUS at 53.

But as many have said, anything can happen in this league. Would like the hardware but wouldn't mind a home playoff series vs. WMU as a consolation prize. And I believe the results above likely also keep both teams in the top 4 of PWR as long as they both win their first round NCHC playoff series.

(Don't know if I did that right.)

Didn't see mention of commit from Gavin Hain of Grand Rapids HS (teammate of Mitch Mattson). Fifth in scoring on team as Sophmore with 23 points in 21 games. Was picked Bantam of the year on a website last year (not sure there is more than a couple voting though). Very intense player who has a lot of upside. Hard to say this far in advance, but has potential to be a very good player, depending on how he develops. Looks good on a team with pretty good depth.
