University of North Dakota-2015-2016-Seaason

Re: University of North Dakota-2015-2016-Seaason

Agree with a lot of points made by you and others on this. I'm looking at it from a "most likely" view but anything can happen in this league. The only thing I'd rule out for both of these teams is either getting swept in any of their remaining series. Again, possible but highly unlikely.

Breaking it down for each:
SCSU - split at Miami, split at UNO (depending on UNO goaltending), split at home vs. UMD and sweep at CC.
UND - sweep at WMU, split at Denver, split at home vs. UMD, split at UNO (same goaltending caveat), sweep at home vs. WMU.

That puts UND at 56 points and SCUS at 53.

I pretty much see it the same way. If they end up tied, who has the tiebreaker?

Re: University of North Dakota-2015-2016-Seaason

Everyone except me seems to see sweeping western twice... while this UND team is certainly capable of that I don't see them winning all four. Wisco and CC left a bad taste in my mouth.

Co-champions if they finish tied. Then for seeding and Penrose trophy: Head-to-head is first, won't change. Wins is the next one and that could end up tied as well. Then head-to-head win percentage, again won't change. Total goals for and against head-to-head next. SCSU wins that 9-5.

Even with the my "probable results" thoughts before, very likely to be wrong somewhere and quite possibly a tie or two comes into play. That will put the total wins tiebreaker in play if the two do somehow end up tied.

I'm thinking that Schmaltz should be back for the Denver series.

Yes, no movement in the PW

With UND's weak first half schedule, I don't suppose that's too surprising. You figure the Hawks will meet SCSU in the conference tournament, so that will be the their chance to jump them if they can win 3 against Denver and UNO (which will not be easy). Besides, who really cares what the PW ranking is as long as they are a 1 seed. It's so random which of the 13-16 seeds are playing well in March. I suppose the same could be said about a 2 vs. 1 seed, since you have to beat all comers in the end, but I'd guess the odds are better for 1 vs. 2 seeds.

I'd rather we play in St. Paul than Cincinnati.

But as many have said, anything can happen in this league. Would like the hardware but wouldn't mind a home playoff series vs. WMU as a consolation prize. And I believe the results above likely also keep both teams in the top 4 of PWR as long as they both win their first round NCHC playoff series.

All holding true so far. Starting to think one of these two teams will sweep UMD. And CC continues to look a little tougher but UND should be able to easily take the two at home vs. WMU considering you were able to take care of them at Lawson with quite a few players missing.

Go Denver?
