University of North Dakota 2014-2015 Season Thread

Fighting Sioux Fan Forever
The season starts tomorrow with the usual exhibition against Manitoba. Lots of optimism for this year's team with a very strong d corp and goalie returning (in spite of what USCHO thinks). Scoring is a bit of a question mark but there are plenty of players that look to have breakout years. And it looks like a strong recruiting class that is ranked 5th nationally. On to Boston!

Only exhibition, but there have been some memorable moments in this game, including that backchecking dive takeaway Trupp used to introduce himself as a Sioux, if I remember correctly. Just a hint of an even more delightful dive play that was to come with Mr. Trupp.

Diving plays are even more fun when they win trophies!

Don't know what game that is, but with Gophers cheering it can't be good.

Well, it was an exhibition, but still looked pretty good. Zane wasn't tested much but stopped everything he saw. Cam Johnson had a few good saves in the third. ySchmaltz looks like advertised. PP went 3 of 6, PK held the Bisons scoreless in 5 tries - really like those stats. But can someone quit feeding Luke stupid pills? Home and home to start the real thing next week with BSU.

Re: University of North Dakota 2014-2015 Season Thread

I thought they looked better as the game went on, which is to be expected in the first exhibition. Pretty ragged the first half of the game or so.

The team will have to do a better job of finishing than they did last night, but I don't put too much stock in the first few games/exhibitions.

Nick Schmaltz appears as advertised. Had to have been pretty fun to get that first point on a nice assist on his brother's sweet goal.

Like the team speed. This D core has to be one of the best in the nation if not the best. N. Schmaltz will make everyone forget about Grimaldi by xmas break.

He'll never touch Rocco's pipes hit per game record...

Embarrassing effort last night. Expect a completely different team tonight in Beaverville.
