Mikalick was outstanding ... again

Re: Union College Hockey 2014-2015 "ReUnion 2015? Why "Nott"?

so that 6 inches would have made the difference of the dman getting him or not? . attempted poke check? than skates 70 feet untouched, drives to teh net, dekes and beats goalie and not touched once. yup, you figured it out. Clueless

Yeah. According to your logic one wonders why they even have the rule. But your theory that all coaching of team defense doesn't rely on the reliable calling of offsides is entertaining in a way that reminds me of the Special Olympics. It is a game of inches and that includes guys like you who have been telling their wife for years that 1" is really 6 inches.

I further assume the D-man may have let up knowing the Q-Pac player was offsides.

Your rep that you posted to me was colorful and demonstrates your lack of cerebral horsepower and it's a real shame that all that negative rep you have accumulated makes your rep worthless because that rep says you don't add value. Tell us more about your "swamp *** parasite!!!" Does your dog even like you?

Re: Union College Hockey 2014-2015 "ReUnion 2015? Why "Nott"?

Yup that's it
Let up when he didn't hear a whistle

Coaching has nothing to do with reliable calls. They are told to control what they can control and play until the whistle

In zone when F's are at center ice is not gapping up. You don't poke, you sweep

Very good player, very good captain. I am sure would love to have play over again

IMO Hokydad's comments add a great deal of value. I have found them more often than not right on the money. He knows a hell of a lot more about hockey than I do. He called Harvard correctly while everyone else was still in dispair. You may not like what he says or how he says it, but IMO he knows a great deal about College Hockey and it shows in his comments. He also knows talent when he sees it long before others spot it (Veck). I hope he continues to post on this thread as I, for one, value his insight and what he has to say. I also hope SLU makes it to the F4 along with Union and two other ECAC teams. :)

I like it and an impressive class next year overall. Maier is going to be a stud.

Next year's class is coming together very nicely. With Campbell's commitment, next year's class may be pretty well set outside of adding a third goalie to replace Pieri. But those things can always change with early departures, etc.

There are trophys/placks for the Shillelagh Tournament . Always looking for things to brighten up Achilles. If we pull it off it would be an opportunity for this team to establish their own identity. Represent the ECAC. Bring back some hardware. All these teams are going to be very hungry and especially ND.

The Shillelagh Tournament is a Division I men's college ice hockey tournament hosted annually during the NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's ice hockey program. It was first held during the 2008–09 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season

Its a good tourney. We went in 08 and I remember Union hanging with ND when they were ranked #1 in the country. Union was up 1-0 end of 1st, and 2-1 in the second. It was amazing to watch, Union didn't even belong on the ice. Looked like a power play the entire time for ND and they eeked out the W.

Should be a fun time in South Bend in a week. Still have 2 extras if anyone wants them. Our gang will be heading to Orourkes public house around 4:30 before our game. We will be the people wearing Union stuff. Should stand out.

I would love to go to ND but it's just too crazy a travel weekend. Hopefully there will be some online video stream available. I am planning to go to Bridgeport over Christmas. Bridgeport is now my second favorite city after you guessed it...Philadelphia!

Re: Union College Hockey 2014-2015 "ReUnion 2015? Why "Nott"?

Union vs ND game is live on NBCSN or the NBCSPORTS.com site. If you can't find it just go to the notre dame website.

Re: Union College Hockey 2014-2015 "ReUnion 2015? Why "Nott"?

I can't find the game listed and on last night's NBCSN broadcast they said the next one was December 5th.
Time Warner Cable says it's a basketball game on NBCSN, looks like we have to go online to view the game.

Re: Union College Hockey 2014-2015 "ReUnion 2015? Why "Nott"?

Tough one coming up ..... all four teams are about equal on paper (statistics). All four teams have defeated at least one top notch, top 20 USCHO team. Our ECAC stats are horrible. ND has a lot of freshmen coming along ... as we do. They are going to have home ice advantage. We are 2-1 on the road. 5-1 OC. This tournament is up for grabs. ND should be slightly favored. ND tough forechecking and defense oriented. IMO we need to bring the shoulder pads, lots of offense. Time for Eli and his line to step up.

It's a free broadcast, and halfway decent, but the commentary is fairly biased. If it's not TV style, though, you may want to grab a stopwatch so you know how much time has elapsed. ;)

Union picked up another commitment yesterday, '95 goalie Jason Kupsky from the NAHL's Lone Star Brahmas.

Solid pickup. He is a big one in net at 6'5. That is two NAHL goalies committing to ECAC schools in the last few days as Andrew Shortridge committed to Quinnipiac. Both are in the top 5 for goalies in the NAHL stat wise to the start the season.
