Union College: 2015-2016

Re: Union College: 2015-2016

A well deserved win by UNH.
We have so many ups and downs, it feels like we play down to some teams, instead of keeping a constant level of focus. UNH did their thing, and we were just sort of there, with nothing much going on. The coach/captains/team need to figure out how to keep the same level of energy during the whole game, whether we're down 5 nothing, or up 5 nothing (make that one nothing... ;p )
After a good start, Kupsky showed his lack of experience on a couple of goals (including one where he just falls forward... what was that about ???!?? I did laugh at the replay :) America's funniest videos, here we come !!!)
I hope this game is a good learning experience for the team and the players.
Go U !!

Re: Union College: 2015-2016

It looks like Union Hockey is not the only sport where we are having a hard time holding on to a lead ... Football had a 30 - 13 lead midway through the 4th quarter and lost to Rochester, 33-30. Football is 0-7. Hobart, Kings Point and RPI to follow. It has not been this bad since the 1950's

Re: Union College: 2015-2016

You need about 24 - 26 points to make it into the top 4 in the league and get a bye for the first round. This team has yet to play an away game. Next 6 are league games. We have been using the NC games to get the freshmen ready to help out in league play. We have the makings of 4-lines which will be a big change from last year. Outside of Princeton not being one of them, I can't be certain as to who those teams will be.

Tonight's lines.... no reason yet for Vecchione's absence.

Re: Union College: 2015-2016

Blocked Shots
SHU We blocked 10 - They blocked 23
BU We blocked 14 - They blocked 8 WIN
Maine (1) We blocked 3 and they blocked 13
Maine (2) We blocked 22 and they blocked 8 WIN
Michigan We blocked 14 and they blocked 14
UNH We blocked 6 and they blocked 17 LOST
RPI We blocked 6 and they blocked 29 LOST

I know that correlation does not mean causation but where we have blocked more shots we have won and where our opponent has blocked more shots they have won. I would suggest we try and block some shots tonight. Only blocking 6 shots is pretty pitiful.
