UNH Wildcats TD Garden and Beyond 2015

Not that I can recall...add them to the list.

Interesting. I probably overlooked the Bobcats because I see them often playing against Bentley. So, now that Justin Agosta has graduated, maybe we should play them. And, speaking of Justin, he had a good season as leading scorer for their D-men, playing in all 39 games, with 3+19=22 points. Had he stayed at UNH for his final season, perhaps we would have won some of those one-goal losses during the first half and made the NCAAs.

As Whoop says, UNH has played AFA, Canisius and Mercyhurst. Not only did they play Air Force at Snively but they had a return trip to Colorado Springs for two games in, I believe, the 1979-1980 season. I remember because UNH defenseman Bruce Rintoul suffered a ruptured spleen in one of the games. Touch and go with him for a bit. And I think Jacob McFlikier had 4 goals at Canisius. As for Army, UNH indeed played them after going D1. In fact one of their games vs. Army at Snively was my first date with my wife, 12/4/1970. John Gray had 5 goals in the game. I think UNH won something like 14-6.

I think that was 1977. Bruce lived with Frankie Barth down the hall from me. His first game for the Cats I believe. Never tore it up on the ice, but left with a mech eng degree.

Re: UNH Wildcats TD Garden and Beyond 2015

Anything is possible but I don't think Kelleher will leave to play professional hockey after his junior season. He was not drafted by an NHL team. Stevie Moses was a little bigger than Tyler (5'9", 170 lbs. vs 5'6", 160 lbs.) and he signed an ATO when his senior season ended. I think Kelleher will go that route. I don't think the NHL is clamoring for 5'6" players, even one with exceptional skills. Johnny Gaudreau is 5'9".

yeah you are probably right about Kelleher! We had fun watching Matt Willows play in Manchester last night; he got a lot of ice time and man, speaking of size he managed to keep out of too much trouble...haha. We did notice that he must really enjoy the push and shove stuff that he can finally get away with ;). Played well and held his own.

You can scratch Air Force, Canisius, and Mercyhurst off that list. UNH has played them before. I saw UNH host Air Force at Snively when I was a wee lad. Mercyhurst played at Lake Whit in Oct '04 and they faced Canisius in Buffalo in '03.

Was Flick on the UNH team in 2003? I think that Canisius game was with a bunch of players suspended for 'attending' the 'riots' after the Red Sox lost in the ALCS to the Yankees? And the Mercyhurst game was the same night as game 1 of the Red Sox/Cardinals World Series in 2004....

edit: looks like Saviano had 4 goals vs. Canisius: http://www.uscho.com/box/mens-hockey/2003/10/24/new-hampshire-vs-canisius/

Good stuff, WS. And, Yandle got four assists in the 'hurst game.

But, Gillies is on his way to Calgary, right? Leaman was in the Sox radio booth at Fenway this afternoon and said that Gillies had five courses remaining to complete his degree.

Yea Gillies signed and they brought in a sixth round pick in Hayden Hawkey to replace him.

BS35+2(?): "We have a new video board at Cowell Stadium, and the fans are really enjoying it."

I'd be much happier with "We have the defending NCAA D-1 Champions at Towse Rink, and it's amazing but no one cares about video boards now." :D

I agree, but a jumbotron would at least allow replays of squeak ball games next door for our suffering hockey fans.

Anyone else looking at the 15-16 schedule so far and uttering, "Meh..." ?

Re: UNH Wildcats TD Garden and Beyond 2015

Yikes, that's brutally weak. How the mighty have fallen :(
Wonder why it's just non-con stuff (and Maine?)

Agreed; UNH had better not lose any of those OOC games, although for the first time ever I will be cheering on the opposition on November 28th. Wish that this match up had happened two or three years ago when Goumas and Gensler were seniors or juniors, as I think that Gensler also could have made good use of the big sheet. So AIC and Bentley will knock off two teams from the UNH un-played list.

I think that OOC games are usually scheduled first as they can be more complicated to set up.
