I saw him being assisted off the ice and the left leg injury looked very serious. I was wondering how it happened (e.g., clean hit, cheap shot, fluke, etc).
Dunno; Ref?

Has anyone on this thread talked to Umile and confirmed that Tirone is "the guy"? Or are we guessing his motives
I'm not buying this, Chuck. Over-coaching? Is it possible that Umile wants more of a look at Tirone, given that Clark has seen 1100+ minutes in 21 games vs. Tirone's 471 over 8 games? Especially during the late season, a season in which we have "nothing to play for", according to some here. In fact, the thread title suggests that the season was over before it started.

Three things that I'd guess to be true, but again, since I'm not in their heads, i'm not going to claim these as fact:
1. Tirone's confidence has not been shaken.
2. Tirone doesn't feel like he's been asked to carry the team
3. Clark doesn't feel like he's been cast off.
These are two goalies, who, going into the night, had IDENTICAL GAA's (2.93 vs. 2.92) and save percentages (.894/.900). I for one don't believe that Umile has made a choice - I think it's a chance to get an extended look, the way he had with Clark earlier.
In the end, I'm pretty certain that we don't have two goalies with fragile psyches on the verge of shattering due to poor coaching. Pretty sure they are a couple of tough kids looking forward to their careers together.
UNH win in game 2 against UVM kept UNH out of tie with UMass for HEA basement, as UMass upset UML last night. So, still plenty to play for this season.
Gotta agree with Chuck about Clark, but also have to trust what Coach is doing. Perhaps he is giving Tirone more 2nd semester minutes to balance what Clark had 1st semester. Maybe the coaches are looking at another goal tender recruit, feel they know what they have in Clark and want to better know what they have in Tirone. You may have some points in there, wildcatdc - and maybe I was too reactionary - but it's hard to understand why Clark is sitting out virtually all of the last two weekends. Maybe there is a minor injury that none of us know about, too? The difference in playing Tirone 100% now is that Clark gets zero playing time. When Clark was getting 100% playing time earlier, Tirone was playing plenty enough in juniors. I'm just struggling to see how this works for, OR is fair to Clark, who did a more than commendable job earlier in the season.
I'm sure Coach Umile has explained this to him, which undercuts my sense of alarm, but IF he hasn't, then I take it all back.![]()
11th place?![]()
Let's Do It!11th? Did you say 11th? Well, did we give up when the germans bombed pearl harbor? Todd says in his thread that we still have a slim chance for a first round bye.

We didn't give up when the Japanese had us pinned down on Omaha beach either! Just sayin'!!
Japanese & Omaha beach?

Stealing one from BU is unlikely, but if there is a shot it might be the Friday game after a Beanpot letdown.
Game at BU this Friday on NESN.
Looking forward to seeing our 'Cats up against those Terriers...maybe they'll be looking past us and we do finally catch the break of the season and actually steal one of 'em. Hey it could happen. But what I'm most worried about now is what is up with GDowning...BU or no BU he's a big part of that team (obviously). Imagine they are evaluating him and we'll know in the next couple of days if not sooner. Personally steeling myself for the worse case scenario judging how that looked Sat. night. Upbeat article in seacoast about the team's win Sat. night. Another trip to the palace for me (Agganis) and if you're coming to the 'Whitt Sat. night it's 'blue out' the Whitt night. Go 'Cats!
UPDATE: Annnnddd Andrew Potularalski is HE's Rookie of the Week for his UVM antics. Great player! Great UNH future ahead of him! Met his parents out to dinner; they go to every game.
