Note to D Brett Pesce can't do it all! It's amazing what he does for that team!

Good strategy to take down the ref, but it did not work?

Nope the goal was initially waved off then awarded..
After a decent first period I have no clue what happened out there very little offense and we had plenty of PP opps. And the D well couldn't clear the zone but that is not news. Sigh. Well going to make the most of it up here in God's country 😉

Lots of great IPAs to cry into; make the most of your stay there, Ref.

On a positive note, UNH moved up to a tie with Canisius in the PWR, now two slots ahead of Huntsville (Mr High and Wide's favorite opponent), and for the moment escapes the indignity of taking the final entry spot in the Bottom Feeders Bracket, so would miss out on an opportunity to compete for the Futile Four at the Silver Dome in Detroit next month.

So apparently we WILL be sticking with a goalie rotation.... Just that it's an in-game rotation, you see.

When that poor ref got up off the ice, he was in la-la land, and he was emphatic in waving off the goal. Was obviously loopy from the hit.

To NHCF - thanks for the link - caught most of the 3rd on the iPad while watching ME-ND on NESN.

To Snively65 - why the lack of love for lil Stevie? He had arguably a equal or better senior year than Downing or Willows will have and had a 98-point career. Not saying he was a Krog or Haydar, but I'd love to have one more weapon in this year's team!

To HockeyRef - have fun up there and keep the faith. I'm jealous!

!

I loved Stevie's play, right up to his shooting the puck. I think that he was the fastest skater that I have seen on the Cats, faster than Saviano, Collins, and all the rest. And, I thought that he was our best ever in creating space and shots out of nothing. But, if he had just put half of those high and wide shots on net (and, I mean really high and wide, as so many of his shots were so far off the mark that the puck was instantly out of play with no rebounds, AND no SOG to support Chuck's hypothesis [he lost last night, BTW]), Stevie easily could have had double his goal total. Stevie Moses could have been our Nathan Gaudreau or Johnny Gerbe (just kidding on those names). Anyway, I am really pleased that he is now scoring goals in Finland, where speed, finesse skating, and shot creativity is a much larger part of the game than in North America.

Pesce gif . Watching it live was well...unfortunate! As an official I have had this kind of thing happen. Never fun to think you may have influenced the outcome of a game but that's sports I guess! And it's all incidental contact here I think what can ya do?

Makes sense.

Re: UNH Wildcats Official Wait til Next Year...14/15 thread

Well there is our answer... Tirone gets the start again. Looks like Umile has chosen his goaltender.

Yeah, and it's working out just wonderfully so far isn't it? Textbook case of over-coaching.

Asking Tirone to carry the team as a mid-season frosh (which is a HUGE ask) only adds pressure, and his confidence has likely been shaken ... while Clark (having had the same task thrust on him this Fall) must wondering exactly what he's done wrong.

Sad but true, the Tirone bandwagon has emptied out pretty quickly. And all of this was just SO avoidable ...

Great intensity by the 'Cats first period with 2 zip lead with two amazing goals by Portularalski . Let's see if we can hold the fort..
