Hated to see the B's beat up by Carolina last night but it was expected. As usual Brett Pesce continues to be a force; so proud of his accomplishments. Have no sympathy for the Brad Marchand suspension how many times does the guy need to be suspended. Love his game but think he's pretty selfish. Oh well. As if it matters what I think haha. Onto Vermont! Going to be a nice day to travel up to Burlington happy to get out of dodge for the annual (well not so annual given covid etc) trek to the North.

Reading this week's Insider column the team knows what they have to do and they can't be looking past the V'Cats. Playing up there isn't their strong suit in the past few years I think I've seen them win twice, maybe a tie since I've been following. The last time we were there we got a split I believe. All of that said there's no reason we can't win tonight and that would be a great start heading into Sunday. UML is UML but we have played well against them in the past. Going to need strong special teams all weekend. I believe this weekend could very well seal the season (where we head into the HE playoffs) and the boys know it. Go 'Cats!

Aside from the two UMASS schools and BU, this league is an absolute mess right now. If anyone gets hot at right the time they can sneak by Northeastern into top four. Merrimack came back to earth, UCONN enjoys torturing their own fans, and PC is acting like it's 2009.
Not that UNH doesn't have enough problems of their own right now, but some kind of curse was placed on PC after the the 2019 Frozen Four and I'm ready to sacrifice something to the Hockey Gods.

haha Jon if sacrificing something to the Hockey Gods will work, count me in! You are right; things are not exactly predictable in this league right now. 'On any given night'. Perhaps the single elimination format of the HE favors teams like UNH...bwahaha you never know (that's the scary part). Any of us who have coached teams that were decent know that other teams lower than ours have zero to lose and will come at you like no tomorrow. That's what upsets are all about. Should be interesting! Well, at least, you've hung a banner...

No they aren't, which makes it annoying when the teams you follow can't take advantage of the chaos.

We are sadly headed towards a season finale where BU beats UML for a Hockey East title in a game where some chicanery takes place - speaking of 2009.

Omg...punches to the head? Am sitting right off the goal can't believe the cheap shots our players are throwing...not to mention being out skated all night. Harrumph.

Was just pointed out to me that UVM hasn't won a regulation home game all season?

Haven't won a regulation league game this season. All 3 Hockey East wins in OT.

FYI, entering tonight UNH had a 70 percent chance for home ice in first round of HE playoffs...

My original post about the game being unappealing was when it was 0-0.

I’m disgusted. Playing poorly is bad. Playing uninspired is bad. Playing poorly AND uninspired is unforgivable.

Lack of preparation, lack of intensity, lack on in game changes, lack of passion. All unacceptable and shows it’s time for a change.

Man, season 8 of The Great Umile Transition Master Plan is really losing the plot. Question is how many more seasons is this show going to run?

So, are you guys used to watching them lose like this?

Because personally, it rips a little bit of my soul away from me every damn time.

Lose, yes... Lose when it doesn't even look like their collective hockey brain got off the bus, not as much... That was a brutal display of hockey and of give a damn.

Terribly disconcerting. I'd like to know who and what snuffed the small fire that had seemingly been lit beneath them just a few weeks ago. Tough to watch them continually fall flat on their faces. It's all old mumblings I know but - somethings gotta give.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_the_shark

The phrase "jumping the shark" is used to argue that a creative outlet or work appears to be making a misguided attempt at generating new attention or publicity for something that is perceived once to have been widely popular, but is no longer.[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP] The idiom that was coined in 1985 by Jon Hein in response to a 1977 episode from the fifth season of the American sitcom Happy Days, in which Fonzie (Henry Winkler) jumps over a shark while on water-skis.[SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP][SUP][5][/SUP] The phrase is pejorative, and is most commonly used in reference to perceived unsuccessful gimmicks for promoting something, by critics who believe that a television show has strayed irretrievably from an older and better formula, that its writers have exhausted their focus, or that the series as a whole has declined in quality. Its usage subsequently broadened beyond its first use in television, indicating the moment when a brand, design, franchise, or creative effort's evolution declines, or when it changes notably in style into something unwelcome.

Souza should be fired immediately. This is just unacceptable, but nobody in the UNH administration has any gonads, so nothing will change.
