Yup; not much use for SNHU Arena and longer. Maybe time to re-enact the glorious Riverstone Cup?

Maybe it's time for SNHU to go D-1 in both hoops and hockey, and use the place as their own?

Re: UNH Wildcats 2019 Offseason - How Much Progress Did We Really Make This Past Seas

Saw that the finished ice is down on a twitter post today; I know they put ads along the boards but on the ice? 2 big 'Eversource' and Bud Light (beer of KINGS Snively65 :D:eek: ) at Center Ice? I guess I don't remember that...? Anyway...getting close gang!!
Missed a trick not going with Miller Lite, for a few extra bucks in sponsorship dollars Marty could've got the jumbotron to lead folks in "Tastes Great!" "Less Filling!"

Forget Manchester, UNH isn't even a strong draw at UNH anymore.

Oh, I thought happy days of good attendance returned to the Whitt this past season? Second best home attendance in HEA, I heard.

I'm trying to convince myself to make a trip up to the Whitt to see Michigan @ UNH on 11/23. The biggest thing for me is having to drive an hour and half back home after the game...any suggestions on a place to stay at nearby after the game?

They've been padding the attendance numbers for the last 5 years or so. They certainly aren't alone, nearly everybody is doing it these days (professional sports too, MLS is probably the worst offender), but from about 2013 or 2014 the numbers listed in the box scores are not a reliable reflection of actual butts in the seats.
For a few years now I've been debating filing a FOIA request for tickets scanned with the intent of comparing those numbers to reported attendance but it's not something I've had enough free time to pursue.

Oh, for sure, I do not disagree; I am pretty sure that the box score numbers are a combination of season ticket sales and gate ticket sales. I am a beneficiary as I buy a general admission ticket and then sit in an empty season ticket holder seat. But, I still sensed that there was an uptick in butts in the seats this past season, FWIW.

Both the Radisson and the Hampton in Portsmouth, right across the street from each other downtown, are relatively new and serviceable hotels. No-nonsense, clean, with suite-style options. I stay there often when I don’t want to drive back to Dublin. Great access to all the downtown restaurants and bars.

There’s also the Three Chimneys Inn if you’re looking for something a little more “elegant” and non-corporate.

Correct on all counts, as I understand it. For sure more butts in seats this past season.

There's a Holiday Inn Express right in Durham...in Dover the Garrison Hotel is good too for the $$ depending on what you're looking for....

Thanks for the suggestions guys, was looking for a cheap place to sleep as I wouldn't get there until after the game then either hang around town or head home in the morning.

Looks like no hockey on the World Wide Streamer this season....

Through the University of New Hampshire's partnership with ESPN, the Worldwide Leader in Sports, UNH will stream a total of 30 contests on ESPN3 and ESPN+, featuring the Wildcats men's and women's basketball, men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball programs.

Ive stayed at the 3 chimneys Inn...very nice place! Regardless if you want to stay in Dham...I'd suggest you make your reservations soon; esp for that weekend. Just thinking there will be lots of people in town for that series...

Although I only have partaken in drinks and meals there (Sunday brunch is awesome!), I endorse the Three Chimneys, the oldest building in Durham, originally built in 1694. As a teenager, I was chief landscaper (aka, lawnmower boy; my crew consisted of me and my younger brother) for its previous iteration, the Ffrost Homestead. Later, a friend and his wife rented the entire house for just the two of them when he was a grad student at UNH, for $150/month, IIRC. Great memories. :-)

Get well quickly, Coach McDonnell.

Good luck, Coach Ricky.

I apparently missed some big news! If coach Mac is being replaced (even short term), and there is no game for a week and a half, he must have something very significant going on. Please share.

Coach Mac taking a leave of absence for health reasons. Santos taking over in the interim. Came out in a UNH email today. No additional details.

Saw that news this morning. Wish Coach Mac well

I think Ricky will be fine at the helm.

Yes but still a very unfortunate turn for coach and all. If passion sold by the pound the guy would be a multimillionaire.
