Thank you for stating the obvious. Except for Wyse and Maller, UNH has no defensemen who know what the heck they are doing out there. I find the play in the third period most egregious. You've got a two goal lead with 10 minutes to go. The job going forward should be to keep ASU's forwards out of the prime shooting areas. But instead,,what do they do but continually challenge the puck carrier and the forwards blow by them. ASU had way too many Grade A chances all game long. If they could shoot they might have blown UNH out.
Look,,the team is not very good. We've got a few guys who shouldn't even being playing D1 hockey, some more guys who plateaued remarkably early in their college careers, and a few freshmen and sophomores who deserve our patience. I don't know what others expected but, coming into the season, I really didn't see anybody on this team who would be elevating his game and making the players around him better. Just recent history,,there are no Butlers, Thompsons, Downings, or Goumases on this team.
We're going to tread water for a years until,,hopefully, Souza and whoever bring in better talent. If that doesn't happen.,best to retrofit the Whit for basketball and let them cheat their way to the top.
