UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Chairs?

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Cha

Or, as it is proving, U.Maine, south ;) Lax admissions, and a coach in Chuck's crosshairs.

BU recruit Maxim Letunov (2nd round draft pick of Phoenix Coyotes) did not get through their admissions process and has reportedly committed to UConn:

Erica Albright: I have to go study.

Mark Zuckerberg: You don't have to study.

Erica Albright: [Exasperated and angry] Why do you keep saying I don't have to study?

Mark Zuckerberg: Because you go to BU!

BU must be ratcheting it up a notch.

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Cha

Maybe BU also has a second language requirement?

I asked awhile back just what are the main snafus these recruits run into...the 2nd lang thing comes up quite abit. I imagine that there are other things, just over all grades perhaps, etc. Seems like it can be quite the tricky road to get into most (I use the term loosely) schools these days. Still thinking that if a kid commits to said place, you'd think the admit process is made quite clear to the recruit. Things happen I guess...it has to be a stressful process and quite intensive. Small consolation it happens to other teams too when you are really counting on a player. 'Course most likely BU has a lot more where that came from although I see they have had their share of this kind of thing in this offseason according to their board with players going elsewhere etc..

One thing I have come to understand is nothing is sure until I see them on the ice and they are wearing a blue and white jersey with 3 big letters on it! ;) Sure I'm proud of our 2nd highest grad rate for our athletes but still...academics first ya'll...

Wouldn't hold your breath on that one Chuck...think he's too busy reveling over the two great gifts his program just received...sigh. Things just got very interesting for the Huskies..

Am I correct in understanding that you view donations to the athletic program as a bad thing?

HA! Only when we don't get 'em...;) Anyone know the last time we had this kind of thing happen? Imagine there has to be room on the roster...or whatever. And sure it's cool for UConn.. I guess

What are you worried about? UConn is this generation's UMass-Amherst. 20+ years on now, UMA is still virtually on the launching pad waiting to fulfill their purported "promise". UConn will be the same.

Jabber jaws seemed keenly interested in the UNH coaching staff a few weeks ago, why the silence now?

Nothing really, to be honest. Just thinking they got a couple of decent players as of late is all...and that Cav has better things to do than to worry/discuss what UNH and their coaching staff is up to! If one more player defects to UConn I'll...well, I don't know what I'll do. haha :p

I'm looking forward to puck drop...and all that goes along with it. Until then holding onto the last of the summer vacation.

ps As per the UMA/UConn prediction, whatever you do don't tell those Husky fans that they are going nowhere fast; there's a lot of heady optimism over there right now!!!

I do not think that two teams with the same moniker should be allowed in the same conference. Time for UConn to return to the AHA and NICC to return to wherever.

Husky fans are just delusional because they have a coach that helped build the NCAA's strongest hockey program over the last 18 years.
Chuck, on the other hand, is not delusional. He's in denial. Throwing stones at BC now would only make him look silly. Throwing stones at UConn now will only make him look silly in a few years, in hind sight. :)

he's too busy working on his lines and d pairs now that he has his 2 new additions...:D

No reason to throw stones at BC - when you win, you earn your respect. I may not be a big fan of "Bandwagon Nation", who acted like they were D-1 royalty for a decade plus before the program actually earned it ... but when you win, that settles a lot of issues.

I think UConn's current coach truly believes he was the "Belichick" to York's "Parcells". Which of course is laughable. The problem for UConn is even if it's true (and I don't believe it for a moment), UConn has Cav Belichick for his "Cleveland" years. :D

If he somehow comes to UNH after getting canned by UConn ... that, my friends, is a dilemma.

Haha you would come over here and say that 😉☺️!! See Ya at the 'Whitt...

Looking forward to our series this year...and oh yeah make sure you remind Chuck that CT can't be that bad...it has given you some very good players over the years...including a certain goalie named Tirone.

I'm sure he will appreciate the info...;) and yes, we (er can't /shouldn't speak for all but I'd say for the most part!) are appreciative of Tirone...looking for a big full year from him!! Might make the trip to CT we'll see...

UConn's coach is a good one... would welcome him back at BC after Jerry's retirement in a heartbeat.

If he happens to stay at UConn, they'll be a perennial Big 4 team for years to come in my opinion. Perhaps pushing UHN into the middle tier? ;)
