UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Chairs?

C-H-C,

Do you have any additional info on this guy? Is an interview in the works? At least to me, he's a bit of a mystery.

Thanks!

Bit undersized offensive defenseman. Would have put up bigger numbers in BCHL, but went to USHL. Played for god-awful team, and so had weak numbers, and team worst +/- (Unh recruit Aaron O'neill was second worst in half a season ).

For this late in offseason he is a decent fill with upside. Has 4 or 5 upside. Probably a bit like Kapstad.

Time for Souza and Stewart to hit the 00 festival with tons of offers. Especially on D.

Feel kind of foolish asking this but what does 4 or 5 upside mean? 😳

I read an interview he gave where he says "feel kind of bad for the kid hanging out by the net I like to make their life miserable" which is a good thing!!😉

Means possibly up to 4 or 5 SOG per game. Just kidding, as I have no idea.

I KNEW it ...;) At any rate glad we have Matt Dawson on board.

ps got my answer thanks! Annndd you were right Snively65 has nothing to do with SOG's...haha

So, what is it? Four or five years at UNH (five if red shirt first year)? But, I do think that Kapstad red-shirted.

Just paraphrasing what was said to me has to do with D pairs and what position they come into the game. Maybe not the same context feel free to correct etc

Yeah, he's basically saying he projects to be a 4th or 5th best defenseman on a team.

That makes sense. I meant to say that Kapstad did NOT redshirt, but he almost did, getting into only three games his first year. But, he played 38 games in each of his last three seasons, racking up over 20 points in a fine senior season.

I still think that scoring goals will be the limiting factor this coming season. D should be fine.

Thinking about our offense the strong points are obviously TyK, Andrew P and Warren F come to mind initially. I think it will come together as there are decent players in Marcus Vela, Mike McNick and hopefully Shane Yzerman (whatever Chuck likes to call him) comes through. I know Collin Mac has been training very hard in CT and looked strong on the ice the other night. Dan Corealle (sp) is capable of scoring goals too. Of course losing Pesce's ability to score and playmake presents a new challenge.

We faced this dilemma last year replacing Goumas and points provided by Knodel and TvR and finally put a decent line together with Willows and co. I do agree it will be a work in progress initially...hoping the "next man up" mantra can play out for the 'Cats! Always hopeful and if there's one thing I've learned early on following this game/sport is anything can happen. Yale...number 15/eventual NC. Sure that's reaching but keeps it interesting... ;)

Lame "it's a rainy day out" question...someone pointed out to me that my phrase "goal keeper" doesn't fit with ice hockey. This comes from having a field hockey background. (where we can only play with one side of the stick...) Anyway...goal tender.....goalie...which is it? but trying to get it right

Either of the last two, or 'sieve' if he plays for the opposing team.
