Spoken like someone who has been waiting for this to happen for almost 20 years. Killing me, man! :p

Care to elaborate at this time where your rooting interests will lie for that one, Snively65?? :D

Bentley Class of '83 ... but all in with the 'Cats :)

I will be attending this one incognito; ha, ha.

But, a match up between Bentley and UNH in 2013-2014 would have been a great game, I think, from the goal on out.

Branden Komm vs CDS in net
Steve Weinstein and Matt Blomquist vs Eric Knodel, Justin Agosta, and TRV on the blue line
Brett Gensler vs Kevin Goumas centering respective first lines
Alex Grieve and Brett Switzer vs Nick Sorkin and Matt Willows filling out the first lines
Andrew Gladiuk and Max French vs Grayson Downing adding line depth

Blomquist, Gladiuk, and French still playing, with first two averaging 1.00 points per game, and French averaging 2.33 points per game (only three games)

Grieve, French & Downing were all teammates with the Westside Warriors in the BCHL...

You should be keeping your powder dry until it's time to start ... and that won't be for a few weeks more.

 God almighty, can we play this game now? Poor Snively65 ain't gonna make it to game day ... :D :p

Please don't encourage him, Dan. It's going to be non-stop for 3 weeks if he doesn't take a chill pill ...

The would-be "Champions of December" are 3-3-1 so far. I'd hoped for no worse than 4-2-1 by now, so we're a game off the pace. It will be very interesting to see how they respond to last night's no-show.

But, we are not losing and winning the games that I thought we would; day is night, black is white, everything is backwards in Cats hockey world.

Your boys from Beaver & Forest may actually have a shot during their visit to UmileWorld later this month, Snively65.

I really thought that our D and goaltending would not be the problem this season, but I was so terribly wrong about that. Say what you want about SOG, but our team is not gong to win many games when giving up 40+ SOG. Too early to call us mathematically out of a NCAA post-season seed, but no easy pickings in the next five games before we take it out on Maine.

Personally I was worried about the D from day one and continue to be...I

I remember that, HR; you were right and I was wrong.

Oh hey didn't see it as a right/wrong thing...just the way it is right now 😳
We are so missing the work of #22 as Mike so aptly points out in his blog tonight...sighhhhh

Don't worry, in two and a half years we can start the rebuild. The AD's got a plan, and he's been spot on in getting both hockey programs out of their free falls.

And Masonious....

well yes Dan, that goes without saying, (not trying to be snarky, honest) as he scored another goal last night in UConn's loss to UMass. When we lost him I knew we'd be in for it D wise. All the team can do is regroup, get better, and I do believe that is possible. Sitting at a soccer state championship watching our number 7 boys battle it out with number 9, (all the higher seeds? OUT) someone said "offense might win games, but defense wins championships" and boy, isn't that the truth. Naturally I too have lamented about what we 'lost last season D wise (number 22 and JM) hubby kindly reminded me... "well you might as well get over it coz 'those ships' have sailed". :o On another note, I have to give Matt Dawson a TON of credit, who knew he'd come here and do the job he's done so far, score some goals, etc.

Can we right this defensive ship?

ps...if you haven't seen the goal replays on C-H-C's blog they are awesome, especially Pot's goal...what a work horse and talented player he is!!! And kudos to Chris Miller too..

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015-2016 (Part One) - Return of the "Champions of December"??

I don't jump on here much, I'm lazy, prefer to let all you fellow loyalists carry the load, but...

I bet money we see a "D" move in the near future, as in, Desperation. I didn't see the MSU games live, but looked hard at every goal replay (thanks, C-H-C -- yes, that line was in my school-days too...). It's vividly clear this defensive unit, as a whole, is either not ready or not capable, you pick it. And oh, yes, the centers need to start doing something better than "standing-by", cuz from what I see, there are some big gaps way too close to the slot (let alone the crease). (Obviously, nobody is playing D if you give up 85+ shots and still block 38 on the MSU weekend. Wow!)

So, the bet is on conversion of upper-class forwards to the D. Say what you want about their supposed "containment" role as a pseudo checking line; time for them to play a different role until this crap gets straightened out. There's no way around it now. Scoring 4+ goals/game should get you better than .500.

I think the goaltending thing will smooth out, once there's capability in front. That said, Clark is probably the guy for now.
