UNH Wildcats 2015-2016 (Part One) - Return of the "Champions of December"??

We made it to the FF through Albany once and Woostah three times since 1998; time for Manchvegas in 2017.

All those FF appearances were through an NCAA tourney consisting of 12 teams. They have never advanced since it has been expanded to 16 teams. You reference 2017 as UNH's chance to get back to FF. Why should we accept waiting? Umile should deliver the goods now!
Have not been to a FF since 2003. Can you imagine telling your boss business will be better in two years??? I don't get it.

BS35+3 is not my boss; just trying to be realistic here.

But, Cats had to win two at NCAA regionals in 1997-98 and 2002-2003; got byes in 1998-199 and 2001-2002.

Meanwhile, TvR logged 15.01 minutes tonight before Hawks succumbed to Rangers 3-2. Also, TvR was on the ice at 1:43 in the first for Linberg's first Rangers' goal, ending up -1 for the night. Good game overall, I thought.

Bring on those Yellow Jackets! Buzzzzzz.

Yea Snively caught that game...he had a great shot on goal but def was caught in those 2 Ranger goals. They did give him plenty of ice time which was great to see. Thought to myself how little he has really played in the past two seasons with injuries plaguing him. Excited to see how he does this year! The pre-game banner ceremony was impressive. B's on tonight!

If we made the NCAA's this year that would be equally impressive...road to that...starts Saturday! Go 'Cats!!!

I don't necessarily disagree ... but I think with this team's absence from the NCAA's in recent seasons, their post-season experience (or more pointedly their lack thereof) would likely hurt them at some point IF they are to return to the big tourney this season. At least they DO have some positive HE tourney experience to draw upon from the last two seasons, I suppose.

But I do think they need to (and will) make a return to the NCAA's this season. Might be a one-and-done, but at least they'll be back in contention if they do, and hopefully then push further on the next two seasons. If it happens sooner than expected, then all the better. :)

Well it's kind of obvious that our OOC schedule at least (not to impugn any of these teams, heck, we'll see won't we) was set up to create the possibility of returning to the NCAA's. Of course, not sure how beating these teams will make a mega diff in the Pairwise, but our HE opponents certainly will (if I have this right..). Either way it's a pretty big goal and would make this fan purty happy if we could do that. First half results set the tone, no way around that! One step/game at a time...reading up on those yellow jacketzzzzz:

I keep waiting for ESPN-Henniker to get to their UNH Hockey preseason piece.

Anyone on the board heard/seen anything from them yet? Thought not.

Must be busy with their preseason ECHL/Monarchs breakdown ...

If Poturalski ain't on it it ain't important. ;) but seriously... It is nice to see a UNH player. In a month, the author will be scratching his head wondering how he omitted TK.

Its an NHL driven site and list - every player on the list has either been drafted or is eligible for, and expected to be selected early in, next summers draft...

We should expect them buzzing out the door with their little yellow jacket tails tucked between their little yellow jacket legs after having a can of Wildcat whupass opened up on their little yellow jacket heads.

Can someone here find the archived posts on the UNH thread related to when Holy Cross visited the Whitt a few years ago? I have tried to find these without success. One post began with "Who is Holy Cross, and what kind of a team will they bring to the ice?" No disrespect to Darius's post above, but the next post in the Holy Cross string was THE FUNNIEST that I have ever read on this forum, as it began with something like: "The question is not 'Who is Holy Cross, but what is the Holy Cross" and then proceeded with a few paragraphs on the history of Christian religion and its symbols. Then, the answer to the second question was something like "Given that the game at the Whitt will be played on ice, most likely Holy Cross will be bringing their ice hockey team, but of course, that is purely conjecture."

I am heading over to the JAR in a few minutes for Bentley's season opener against our old nemesis Mercyhurst tonight, and will take a pass on AIC at the Whitt tomorrow night, as I see the Yellow Jackets all too often. Buzzzzzzzz! But, I will be in Durham next Friday night to see how many goals we can score against the Skating Saints and their sophomore phenom in net.

EDIT: I forgot to note that O' Fortuna was background for Squeaky Mazz radio segment late this afternoon.

Looking forward to the video intro if there is some vintage UNH stuff on it - I can back that for sure. :) Please tell me though there was no "Emoji Cam" or "Kiss Cam" garbage, though ...

... and while on the subject of irrelevant pregame crap, we need a 50% mascot department downsize. Seriously.
There was a 'name that alum' segment to which the answer was Sean Collins, but the photo was not. Player pictured on the jumbotron had a C on his chest. Up there with the trivia question a year or two ago asking which alum played on the Miracle On Ice team.

RE: the pre-game pomp and circumstance, depending on length you may not have to pick one (the previous music) over the other (the new video), if it fits time-wise keep the music and slide the video in between when the anthem is finished and the puck is dropped; everybody wins. Or if you really want to make the new video guy earn his pay have him layer "O Fortuna" OVER the audio in the video (again, time dependent - the tune runs about 2:30)

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015-2016 (Part One) - Return of the "Champions of December"??

UNH starts off with St. Francis Xavier and AIC. Meanwhile Maine has got Michigan St. and NODAK this weekend in the Ice Breaker Tournament in Portland. BTW, I keep hearing ads for the tournament on the radio and I'm hearing they are having trouble selling it out. Apparently Maine is going to put in a bid for a Regional and the Ice Breaker selling out would obviously help their bid. $57 on SticketMaster for a two day pass could be a negative for sales!
They did a stellar job advertising it on the internet, North Dakota's logo looks like a Magic Eye picture (stare at it long enough and a 3D image comes out!) and on the end you have Blob State. Are they still using Windows 3.1 up in Orono? :D

Women got housed by the mighty Lindenwood University yesterday. Long gone are the days when the 'Cats (of any gender) can take small conference teams with a grain of salt!!
