So does this mean that his last season he can only play the first half of the season? How does that whole thing work?

Disclosure: I'm not an expert on this crap. I think a certain (low) number of games played constitutes a year. I believe you can play a bit, get injured, and still redshirt the year. I'd have to believe that playing the second semester equals a year of eligibility. But remember: I'm not an expert on this crap.
* In goal ... will Coach Umile split time initially between Clark and Regan? Or will one of those two get most of the games (based on prior board feedback, the consensus seems to be that Clark will be the lead dog)? If the Clark/Regan combo turns out OK, will Coach Umile leave Tirone in juniors until next season? If the early season combo falters ... is Tirone good enough to take the top job? [/SIZE]

Per Jeff Cox, Danny Tirone will play for the Jr Bruins of the USPHL before enrolling at UNH 2nd semster
Tirone now a teammate of Charlie Kelleher's (Tyler's younger brother).

That's cool...where can one watch one of their games?
The Junior Bruins Premiere team are playing at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA today, tomorrow and Sunday:

Road trip!! Be awesome to see both he and Charlie play...thought BvR played for the NJ Hitmen? Where is he this season? Another thought how wild it must be for our current alums who are at their prospective pro camps this week playing with the "big boys"...what a rush!
My guess is which route is taken would depend heavily on what happens in the first semester. If Tirone can step in as the #1, he'll play right away. If Clark is handling the position well, they may try to wait on Tirone.
Worst case scenario is that Clark is playing well early, UNH decides wait on Tirone per the original plan, and then something happens to Clark in the second half of the season. Given that the outlook for a UNH postseason run of any significance would seem to be fairly unlikely, then it's a non-issue and Regan gets more PT than he ever imagined possible, while some lucky sub-Varsity goalie gets to tell his grandkids someday how once upon a time. he suited up for the *mighty* UNH Wildcats.![]()

By wait I just meant to play him. He will be on the roster no matter what in case of an injury, but if Clark is going well theres be no reason to throw Tirone out there and burn a year of eligibility and put two scholarship goalies in the same class.

Understood. But other than having a kid in a little early to practice/train with his future teammates, what advantage is served to have him just sit on the bench? Does UNH even have a dedicated goalie coach anymore? And even if Clark can't play for some reason (injury, suspension or whatever) ... does throwing Tirone in during the midst of what many of us believe to be a rebuilding (NOT reloading) season warrant potentially "burning" a year of his eligibility?
Captain Obvious moment - the decision doesn't need to be made until December anyway. But I'm leaning towards just letting Tirone play another year in juniors, and not throwing a wrench into the "staggered" years approach as initially planned. At least that was the plan before some idiot senior whose name will not be mentioned here decided to play full contact MMA with his girlfriend.![]()
