Just a piece of sarcasm for the old timers on this board. After Burchill was dismissed from UNH he transferred to NU. Nearly three decades later not much has changed.

...there was an incident involving alcohol and Saponari, which has never been publicly elaborated upon by the player or the school. Two months later, Saponari and his brother Victor, a junior, were dismissed.

Next stop the USHL Dubuque Fighting Saints:
... the first year of life after BU for Saponari, the new kids on the USHL block went 37-14-9, and won the USHL championship. Saponari was a leader on the ice — named a second-team USHL All-Star with 18 goals and 64 points — and off it.

Then:

Finally:
Saponari enrolled at Northeastern for the fall of 2011.

I am not comparing an incident involving alcohol to being arrested for assault and resiting arrest.

Yup, that sounds about right. Then, by January 2015, he will leap frog over Mike Condon, Eric Hartzell, and Kieran Millan into a back up goalie job with the Penguins or Canadians, whichever team makes him the best offer. How did I miss this scenario earlier?

Lamby was in Finland or Sweden in October when he got the call. Jack told him he had been enrolled 5 weeks before the call.

Thanks for the Clark highlights Mike. It's a shame about DeSmith but this kid Clark looks to be good. I might be "whistling past the graveyard" but I'm not all that wound up about the situation in net. Hope I'm proven right

I'm actually less concerned about the goalie situation than I am about other areas of the team ... most specifically, the defense that is going to be playing in front of the new goalie(s). After Pesce, it's pretty much two sophs (Cleland and Maller), and then a bunch of guys who've either never had a regular shift on the top two pairings (Quast) OR will be making their D-1 debuts in less than a month.

Of course, if Clark turns out to be the next Hellebuyck (sp?) or Gillies, that would help out a lot too.

The most immediate concern for 3 players might be finding a 4th to pay rent.

I come in peace and am not up to speed on where DeSmith stands. Is he suspended indefinitely? Kicked off team? Just wondering. If he hasn't been kicked off the team, I wonder if the Ray Rice situation enters the minds of the people in charge at UNH.

Well as of today his name still appears on the roster (pending the investigation). I mentioned he has his arraignment 0ct 2 (wmur story) which will bring I imagine the exact charges into light along with a plea? From there your guess is as good as mine what his status will be. Hard not to think about the Rice issue it's just very unfortunate all the way around...One would expect the team media guide to be printed/released in the next few weeks which profiles the players? You board vets might know that info? I'd be amazed if he plays..
