Re: UNH Wildcats: 2010-2011 Season Thread

UNH fans might be interested in knowing that Heather Kashman scored the lone shoot out goal for the Edmonton Thunder (Team Pacific) as they defeated the Notre Dame Hounds (Team West) 3-2 in a preliminary round matchup on Sunday in Canada's Esso Cup. The Esso Cup is Canada's final stop in determining a National Champion in midget age female hockey and runs April 17th to the 23rd in St Albert, Alberta, Canada.

The Edmonton Thunder are on the ice again today against the Toronto Aero's who represent Team Ontario at 4:00 MST. Team Ontario lost in a shoot out yesterday to the Host Team the St Albert Kal Tire Slash while team Quebec defeated Team Atlantic 5-0 in their opening tilt.

For consistency like to note that the Quebec entry is Lac St-Louis. Quebec teams will always have a hard time in this tourney as they tend to be younger than their counterparts from other provinces, given their different school system.

Good point. What's ur take on the entry from the best league in the World? :)

There is no entry in this event from that league, as teams from that league are not eligible.
As a result, the Ontario Rep is the winner from the LLGHL, the next tier down. Therefore both Ontario and Quebec are sending their second tier winners to this event. IMHO they should make this event a U19 championship, so the true Quebec (CEGEP) and Ontario (PW)winners can attend.
