Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

It's seems pretty clear that TicketMasterRipoff is not selling tickets for tonight's quarterfinal game. Out of curiousity, I went to the BU website and clicked "Tickets" for their game tonight - it bumped me to the TicketMaster website which announced that no such event exists.
Good - I'd rather hand my money to someone wearing a UNH logo and save on the ridiculous fees.

Does any know when the ticket office opens?

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

Anyone think they got a chance to make the NCAA's? I would the they need BC to beat Vermont and win this thing.

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

its going to be close , they dont deserve , cant win a home series , have a hunch there will be tourney upsets .

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

Without knowing all the details and permutations, I'd say they have a one-in-three chance. Many of the teams behind them will lose, but not all, and to me this is feeling like 2001.

Fourteen straight years of hosting the first round and they've lost at least four of those times, right? I hate to sound like an entitled jerk, but that's not good enough.

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

I feel if they do make it, there a team a top team doesnt want to play. With that being said, why dont they deserve it.

they do deserve it based on winning league , but failing to win first round in your own building (snd year in a row )sad ..

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

Where's that French guy when we need him to post the UNH upsets versus the reverse-upsets? As every year passes, that list becomes more and more compelling, and it's hard to just dismiss it because it makes us feel lousy.

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

hahahaha who wouldnt want to play unh in a one game playoff in the ncaa tournament???.... they can't break a trap, umile can't adapt in-game when an opposing team has a better game plan, and they're not deep at all (foster is a solid goalie tho give it to him).... u win the argument if its opposed to playing alabama huntsville or the atlantic hockey winner tho.

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

Here is why they don't deserve to go:

1. Losing to 8 seed at home and not even scoring a goal in two games for a team that was built to play on the big surface.

2. Horrible out of conference record,

3. Terrible history in NCAA's.

you sold me , they also moved to 15 th in power , see you next year.

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

But the difference is they werent suppose to be half this good this year. And they were a good team. I guarantee there isnt a number 1 seed that wants to play UNH because of there potential.

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

UNH needs three things to happen to help secure an NCAA birth:

-->BC win the Hockey East tournament
-->RIT lose in its tournament to fall out of TUC status behind Northeastern
-->Cornell win the ECAC tournament

Anything outside that scenario does not look good.

are there any other scenarios to look foward too , lol , can umass become a tuc .

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

With that being said, why dont they deserve it.

While this team exceeded expectations, they proved that they could play at high level.

The problem is that they haven't played a complete game at that level since January.

People are blinded by the seemingly impossible comebacks, but at the end of the day, this team has not played well in over 2 months. They did just enough to hang on to 1st place for the regular season and that's it.

I feel for Foster. He's the only player who showed up the past two nights.

I don't want to pile on, I'd have preferred UNH won tonight... but... Are you kidding me? No one wants to play UNH in the NCAAs? I would think it's the opposite.

And why isn't the Fire Umile thread on page 1?

AND WHAT ABOUT THE END OF THE SEASON THREAD PAGE ONE

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

My guess is that UNH may squeak into a regional against Wisco or Miami. When was the last time that a big four conference RS winner did not get to the NCAAs?
