At least UNH made it a game and came to play. Wisconsin was horrible, they put the BAD in BADger.

Hope both UNH players heal up and are fine.

We'll always root for HE to be the best, except the Eagles for me, and this time it's your turn. Love seeing the teams in the FF as they all played exceptional hockey to get there! Honestly don't see how/who will be able to solve The UML game plan...trapping D with Hellenbuck to finish. Truly a tough, tough combination...but that's why they play the game right! Just ask the Baylor women....

And wasn't it great to see Brittney lose (she's one of the Baylor "women", right?)! Did you see when someone came over from behind to shake her hand and she turned around and was about ready to punch them? Like she cold-cocked that opponent her freshman year. She's nothing but a thug and a sore loser (like her coach). Bet she won't be tweeting out "You go girl" to her buddies now...

Congrats to UNH for a superb hockey game. No doubt the game would have been very different if your top scorers were available. I want to take a moment to offer KUDOS to the UNH fans. My 13 y/o daughter and I attended the games this past weekend and your fans were very hospitable and gracious throughout. Excellent hosts! We were sitting in an area that was made up of a majority of UNH fans and when the final buzzer rang, an older gentleman reached across the aisle, shook my hand and said "Congratulations. Best of luck in the Frozen Four." Similar experiences with the people behind us and when we went to a local restaurant after the game. Very nice people all around. Thank you UNH for being a terrific host and best of luck next year!

Over the years, I've found that 99% of hockey fans from all schools are like this. :) Welcome to the boards, glad you and your daughter were there to see the hockey this weekend, and hope you consider (if you don't already) attend games at the Tsongas and/or be a season ticket holder.

THis. We have been gong to the games for my kid's whole life (soon to be 17 yrs). It is a great experience.

I am rooting for UML all the way. Tsongas is my second "home" rink, whether UNH or Bentley plays UML there, and you have a Beer Works just down the street. Go River Hawks! (But, what is a River Hawk?).

it is a mythical beast that rose from the waters of the mighty Merrimack River in an effort to make sure that their new mascot was not going to be the focal point of whining PC duds who had nothing better to do with their lives.

I was at the "birth" of the giant skating river hawk at the old Tulley Forum, when, between periods, a giant papier mache egg was slid out onto the ice and out skated the baby river hawks.

at that moment, I WISHED that I had been at the rink when the giant pregnant papier mache squaw was slid out onto the ice so many years ago...

(and how come when Merrimack changed the look of the Warrior to a Greek from a native American, nobody whined about hostile and abusive?

Would have been funny to see UML go with a Fire Chief as a mascot instead, to keep the name... Great job this weekend, and best of luck in Pittsburgh, hope to see you guys take it home (and think you will!)

A friend of mine, with a Lowell degree, and her friends referred to it as the "Angry Pigeon".
