UNH Men’s Hockey 22-23: the start of something new, or more of the same?

Sununu at the game; calls UNH hockey NH's "professional sport"...also when asked what he's excited about "to keep UNH on the top of Hockey East". Ok...glad he's plugged into the situation...

Sounds like he is oblivious to me.

Meanwhile, LeClerc now a double-digit goal scorer on the season.

Team needs one more goal today to have a 2.00 GPG average.

So UNH gets 2 W's this weekend...haven't done that since opening weekend! Good for them...Onto UMassy

Ps...so is Fessenden our go to goalie?

Now up 2-0 on Stevenson goal. Could we be looking at a second upset win this weekend?

PWR at moment: PC 24, SH 28t with AZ State, Clarkson 36t with Princeton, St L 38t with Maine, UVM 50, UNH 52, Army 58

UNH 49 in PWR...look out!! Providence has a tough weekend losing to the 'Cats and tying Army...#20 in PWR was what I saw but maybe not correct (looked at CHN app?)

Question for those who hung around postgame:

Is it true Muszelik gave up three goals during Skate With The Cats?

I think it's been obvious for quite a while now that Messy Fessy is the top dog in goal this season.

As highlighted by Felgie's take on his back-up's post-game performance ... :-D

Effingwoods' Finest ... say what you will, but if you simply change the word "keep" to "return" it's pretty spot on, so let's give WIS' favorite RINO a break on this?? Besides, he's *only* running the State and all ... and if any of you have any regular out-of-state travel, you'll realize he's done a MUCH better job than his neighbors have, especially these last 2-3 years. If anything, it's probably more evidence of how little MSM (WMUR/UL) coverage the program is getting these days, to the point that even the Gov doesn't know the State's flagship sports team has arrived in the crapper.

The Gov started his current job in 2017, when MS7 was lead assistant, and Coach Umile was still enmeshed in his Quest for the NRN (spoiler alert - he fell short). If I'm channeling my inner Dan ... winning in front of the Gov is probably the last thing we wanted to see, as there's less chance someone of any consequence will be asking challenging questions about what's going on with the State's lone "professional" team, and our new Chief Compliance Officer needn't fire up the long-promised nationwide search, blue ribbon advisory panel, etc.

So UNH beats Bobby Vee U, firing 4 goals past some Lush, and it's a good night for MS7 and the UNH PWR. Yippee ...

Charlie, perhaps your mindless drivel that keeps showing up on this here thread is what's been keepin' the team down, ya ornery buzzard!! Well, schit mebbe I'm bringin' a bit of good luck to SOOOOUZA and his gang o' misfits. Then again, mebbe it's that hot young nurse Ramona who's been takin' good care of me the past few days, a little lead in the pencil never hurts, know what I'm sayin'??? Anyways, you just watch yourself, old-timer-in-training!! You'll be a resident here soon at Happy Oaks! And no, we ain't gonna be roomies, ya gal-durned miscreant!!

Jumpin' Jeezus H GUNHer, cut me some slack willya?!? That *drivel* has been helping keep the schit stirred on here, while you've been enjoying your happy pills and stalking/gawking at the help over at Happy Oaks, ferchrissakes!!! Now, willya just go sharpen your pencil and keep posting, your streak is up to a whopping 2 games, and MS7's family is gonna want to keep you on the right side of the lawn though at least early March, know your role!!! :-D

Neither UMass-Flagship nor UMass-Lowell have a double-digit goal scorer, so with LeClerc now a goal-scoring machine and Fessenden in net we should be favored in the next three games, eh?

Let's try to remember what happened after the last time the 'Cats won two games in a row. Not pretty ...

EEEK! Exactly....but I do think it will be interesting. Look at how many games UNH has lost by 1. At the same time, let's not kid ourselves...but there is growth going on at least with this team,
and while that doesn't win championships...it deserves to be noted...

Look a the bright side, it might get a lot easier to make the National Tournament in the years ahead.

"The NCAA Transformation Committee released its final report this week.... Those proposals will be reviewed by several committees, and if they are implemented, the NCAA said it would likely occur with the ’24–25 championship.

For men’s hockey, that could mean as many as 31 teams could qualify for the NCAA Tournament."

I find this so ironic:

David Fessenden GAA 2.62 Save Percentage .911

Drew Commesso GAA 2.63 Save Percentage .910

Isn't that interesting...the things you think you know about a situation that isn't the way it turns out. And he has a goalie coach, if you remember that was one of his reasons to dump UNH so
that he could keep his same coach. At least, that was the story then. Look, I don't have any ill feelings towards Drew and I wish him all the best. I imagine he'll prob have some kind of professional career after BU is done.

Nice to see Fessie and Nikolai Jensen getting HE recognition for goaltender/ defender of the week!

Nickolai has the only positive plus/minus on the team, with a +7, which I found surprising. His 6 assists help, but obviously he is doing his job defensively also. Good for him, and Fessenden.

Yeah have been following this on Instagram...he's picking up a few endorsements from other pro hockey players. Hope it pans out for him!

Ty Rone leads UNH goalies all time with 3637 saves and 125 games.

I will buy some of his energy bars, unless they cost more than $100 each.

Too funny, as at the moment there is an ad for colorful frosted donuts all over the thread. :-)
