UNH- How Far West Do We Go?

It appears Merrimack will sweep UVM this weekend, likely taking us out of contention for a home playoff game first round.

Mathematically UNH's most likely first round opponent is Northeastern. Who doesn't have a rink. Mike McMahon says in that scenario UNH would probably host. Not sure if McMahon knows something or if he was just spitballing. Maybe his kid told him. Seems absurd to me. Then again Northeastern conceded Friday's game to Maine both on and off the ice, so perhaps that's what would happen.

it should be noted that Coach McCloskey's accuser, who by all accounts was insubordinate and running her mouth with a profanity-laced tirade directed at him at the time of the jersey tugging "altercation", finished off her mediocre UNH on-ice career without further incident. She went on to secure her post-grad degree at UNH Law/Franklin Pierce (with a Sports Law certificate!) and is currently an attorney in Arizona. Her mom was/is a paralegal, and her dad was/is a regional VP for a large international business, a position that traditionally brushes up against legal issues frequently.
Folks, read this and you’ll better appreciate what a sick guy Buford (Chuck Murray) is. Having nothing better to do with his life (he never does), he tracked this poor woman and her parents for well over a decade and is now doxxing her. This is sick. Very troubling. Stop harassing this woman, Buford. You are a sick loser.

McCloskey crossed the line and got fired. Coaches can’t touch the players. If they do they better hope the player doesn’t complain. See Bobby Knight - Neil Reed at Indiana.

I was joking awhile back that if NU got a first round game it would be at the 'Whitt...😆

McCloskey had no such history, was faced with an insolent, profane AND recalcitrant player, and forced the player to take heed. The player should at least have been suspended for insubordination, but Coach tried to work through it and even let her dress the next game before her parents escalated the issue, and the sh!t hit the fan. That your beloved UNH top level admins wet their pants in Woke terror at legal threats against a respected coach is a stain on the University that still persists, and shows just how out of touch they were/are with regular NH folks who would have been on a jury to decide the matter. To compare him to Knight (or Woody Hayes) is downright idiotic. But we expect idiocy from you, don't we? And on this occasion, you have not disappointed.

Yes, shocking, took me all of about 10 or 15 minutes to figure all this stuff out, after knowing the original details from first-hand sources when it all went down over a decade ago. I still haven't mentioned any names, have I? I must suck at doxxing lol. You on the other hand are a truly sick piece of work ... your cover gets busted after a year as a gutless sniper, you go run to USCHO admins to whine, and you still have the balls to post more libelous bullsh!t after. You lack any sense of self-awareness and are the definition of a hypocrite. Your use of the term "doxxing" is especially rich, precious even, after your not-even-veiled threats to other posters about the content of their prior DM's. You've done more doxxing in half of one post (above) than I have in 30 years on these boards.

I've said it twice before, and I'll say it again now ... you are still my &!+@%, and you always will be.

admins take note, do what you feel is necessary, just make sure you understand where this is all coming from, which you did not do late last week

I did not see the game last night at the Whitt, but reading the box score, Alex Carr scored his first collegiate goal on the power play. I thought that Alex Carr is a D-man. What am I missing?
Alex Carr got out onto the ice after PC's first SHG, and scored within seconds of the restart while UNH still had time left on the same power play.

Notwithstanding this, the 'Cats later conceded a second SHG on another PP, IIRC they once again had five forwards out there ...

"A former University of New Hampshire women's hockey coach has admitted he assaulted a player during a 2013 home game.

Strafford County Attorney Tom Velardi said Wednesday that Brian McCloskey made the admissions in writing Tuesday as part of a diversion program that requires him to take anger management classes and perform 100 hours of community service.

He admitted pulling a player's jersey, prompting her to land on her back on the bench. After causing her to fall and hit her head on the bench, he held her face mask with his hand."

Automatic termination. The school never had a real choice. But, hey, you know bigtime lawyers, right? After all, you're an insurance adjuster.

Oh, Buford, you really are a wacko. My cover? Well, please post my name.

Just what I expected, you have no idea who I am. BTW, anonymous posters don't whine because there's nothing to whine about.

So decided to make the trek to Storrs with another fanatical fan..most likely they will start TyMuz. Seems fitting somehow? Anyway, hope the 'Cats make
it worth it for this long suffering fan...ha! Go 'Cats!!

In addition to the handful of Fire Souza signs, what surprised me the most on Saturday how openly STHs long loyal to the program were discussing the need for a coaching change.

Let's hope the powers that be are paying attention. The time has come to make a change. Enough is enough.

Not taking the bait, loser. Your true identity is known, and the funniest thing of all is that you ended up busting your own cover. Pride goeth before the fall.

The thing that amazes me is that for the 24-25 season, UNH ranked #11 nationally for attendance.

The UNH can't complain that there isn't fan support or interest in the program, especially considering the below average and underachieving teams of the Souza era.

Has the university considered that fans are closing their pockets and refusing to donate as a form of silent protest or acknowledged just how important the Friends actually were to the success of the program?

UNH's version of media-friendly "kangaroo court". Yet despite all these alleged transgressions, the purported "Woody Hayes of D-1 college hockey" was able to get subsequent employment, both in the private sector and (again) in the Woke world of academia, without any issues. Maybe because for anyone who cared enough to scratch just a tiny wee bit below the surface, it was obviously a frame-up hit job from the start. It was then (and still is) a stain on the UNH admins.

Not surprised in the least you would side with the Thompson Hall lord high overseers, where your nose can so often be found buried in their posteriors, mole.

First, who said anything about being "offended"?? It's a simple matter of right and wrong. Yes, Blue Skies wanted out of the extension they'd just inked, but he couldn't well just come out and renege on a contract, could he? You know better than that. You think the U's hands are tied with one more year of MS7, imagine climbing out of a multiyear deal they'd just agreed on with Coach Mac?!? The only way to do that was to fabricate some "leverage", call in the campus cops, and presto bingo ...

UNH absolutely used Woke dogma to support railroading a loyal and highly competent coach out of Titletown, and de facto breaching a totally valid contract.

The absolute tell in the whole situation was ignoring/burying the players' support of Coach. FWIW this is stuff I had direct sourcing on at the time it went down.

Please tell me exactly what part of that you disagree with, or feel is inaccurate?? Shameful episode, and one UNH would do well to try to make amends on ...
So there are a couple things hiding in here and I know you see it and are likely being intentionally provocative.

To be aligned, politically I am a centrist and more libertarian than anything else. So minimal government overall, and that means stop legislating all sorts of things - like any anti-gay or anti-trans legislation the "right" likes, I don't care if you are gay or trans and I don't want the government wasting its time on what identity people choose. The simplest and least government path is the best, understanding you don't get roads and bridges without a funded government. I know you are using woke in a derogatory way and the reality is why shouldn't we all be woke? I am white and male and yup that means I still have some systemic advantages, the numbers says so, on average I get paid more than women or people of color. Am I personally going to give that money back? Hell no, and yet that doesn't mean I can't be aware of the inequities and work to correct them and bring others up. From that context why aren't you woke? (Another one I ask... to anybody in general, why do conservatives claim to be patriotic and love the country and hate liberals and progressives? George Washington and Alexander Hamilton and James Madison and... all of them bunch of damn liberals and progressives... if they were conservatives they would have supported the crown... OK sorry end of politics)

Now to the specific case. If the admin wanted to get MS7 out and the only thing holding them back was the contract (one can hope) and he grabbed a player by the jersey, yanked them back on the bench and then grabbed their facemask (not that this is what McCloskey exactly did) to get the player to pat attention while he yelled at that player. You know the type of stuff Bobby Knight used to get away with or football coaches used to get away with... Would UNH using that excuse to dismiss MS7 be woke? or would it just be a University that for whatever reason wanted out and the coach gave them the excuse to escape?

My point is separate the sex and race of the player and the coach from the action. I still think UNH uses what McCloskey did (even if he was coaching the men's team) to get out of that contact. Particularly if they could get the player, and players family to go along with it, NOTE McCloskey had tried to dismiss that player from the team and was forced to keep said player and I am guessing play said player, he should have seen it coming. So was it "woke"... I say for whatever reason UNH wanted out and the rest was just the excuse.

1) I am not sure I believe the attendance numbers - place seems more empty than that.

2) my understanding is the FoH was $500k-$1M per year to the hockey program that is essentially gone now

Ok so roughing up players regardless of gender is ok....coaches have an obligation to be role models and he failed to live up to that. Bet theres alot more to this story.
If Brian McC wanted to push it he would've....like suing the University.
Bottom line..keep your hands off the athletes.

These numbers were taken directly from NCAA, but I agree with you. There are simply many nights when the 6501 number is announced and we all laugh knowing the barn is half empty.

Your understanding is consistent with what has been shared with me. 500k-1.0mm, inclusive of two full scholarships

Holy cow, Buford, you really have no clue AT ALL what happened. McCloskey was criminally prosecuted and agreed the facts giving rise to the A&B charge were true in order to be put on what amounts to probation (pretrial diversion). You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, which I suppose puts you on even footing with idiots like Meathead (Norbert), Emily the Flunky and Elwood. UNH had no choice but to get rid of him.

BTW, your too dumb to know what a Kangaroo Court is. It disturbs me that you have a operator's license. You are generally an incompetent person. Nobody on this Board has less knowledge than you.
